Thoughts

Hi,

Another day of off-and-on rain, and though we have water from the sky, we have little in the pipes. Yes, the water gremlins are back. Daku is doing much better today and I'm slowly getting to know my new appendage. (555)

This 'Easy Monday' song could have been in the 'Old School' category, but it's so easy I had to use it. First sung in 1933, and made famous in 1943 when it was sung in a movie of the same name. Go ahead, take a guess.
"Can't go on, everything I had is gone, __ __, since my gal and I ain't together. Keeps rainin' all the time. Clue: It's something that happens here in Chiang Rai almost every day. Hmm.

This morning when we woke up Daku was hardly limping. Much of this is probably due to the medication and the fact that he hasn't been running around. When we went outside he really wanted to play, but the rain came just in time and he doesn't like too much water he can't control. A few more days of 'captivity' and maybe he can romp a little bit. Lisa took BamBam out with the ball so she could get her exercise. She loves to run like the wind.

Our water went from very slow to nothing at all right after lunch. Boot called the water department and they told her they were working on something. Yeah right, so where's the water? Tonight it's back to a trickle. I noticed a bunch of trucks and machines at the base of the bridge this evening so maybe they really are 'working on something'.

All of the recent heavy rain has put a damper on our daily swimming. We had a window of possibility this afternoon but the water temperature had fallen to a chilling 77 degrees. That's 10 degrees lower than the last time we swam. Brrr. Waiting for sunshine to warm it up again.

One of our latest projects is finding a new yard crew. It's been a good run with Khun Kek and his crew, but he has moved out of town and the workers he's been bringing aren't the same ones we started with, and not so good. We'll just keep asking around until we find the right combination.

Tomorrow, weather permitting, we're going to drive up to Mae Sai, on the border with Burma, and do some shopping. The countryside will be beautiful and it will be good to get out of the house.

Have a Happy Tuesday.

Peace,
Danny
