Rainbow

Hi,

Today was one of those picture perfect days. Some clouds, but mostly sunny, with a little five minute shower for lunch. Even though we stayed around the compound all day, there are still things to tell you about.

'Easy Monday' was pretty easy for some of you. If you still have questions, these lines should clear up all doubt:
"__ __ is not my lover. She's just a girl who claims that I am the one, but the kid is not my son. She says I am the one, but the kid is not my son." Clue: Paternity issues aside, this monster hit by a guy with a glove should be easy.

At the dinner Saturday night we were told that the new theater at Central Plaza is now showing Western films in English. At some point we'll have to go check it out. Up until now, the only place showing movies was the theater at Big C, but they were all in Thai. A recent article in the Bangkok Post noted that many times people will talk on their phones during movies with Thai subtitles, since they're reading what's going on and not listening. I hope that doesn't happen when we go to the show.

For two days straight, we've had to shorten our afternoon swim. Yesterday, just after we slipped into the water, the thunder began. Big, loud thunder rolling across the sky. Being the sensible people we are, we got out of the water. We waited a few minutes to see if it was over and it soon became quiet. We got back in the water, swam a few laps and the thunder returned. We got out and called it a day. Today, after a few laps in the pool we began to smell smoke. It was not the usual smell, but the gross smell of plastic burning. Again, we called it a day and hit the showers. I predict that tomorrow we will get a complete swimming session.

It goes without saying that with the start of The Wimbledon Tennis Tournament, our evening viewing is focused on the grass courts. What's nice is that we can set the new recorder for the evening, and then start at the beginning whenever we want, and skip through the commercials. Of course, we'll be conferring with Watch Guy this weekend to see how he's enjoying it all.

Today, while we were in the pool, I spotted a large, black butterfly. We got out to see it as it darted around some bright flowers. It had a hint of orange underneath, and a deep blue coloring on part of it's wings. It appeared to have a wing-span of about four inches. In other nature news, there are some birds in the yard that have a wing pattern like a Mocking Bird, and the squawk of a Blue Jay. They have a nest in one of the palm trees and whenever the dogs are near the base of the tree, one of them will swoop down, and yell at the dogs. They don't seem to be too concerned since it's not really an attack. Life in the Wild Kingdom, Thai Style.

Have a Happy Tuesday.

Peace,
Danny
