Beauty

Hi,

We had another one of those hot, muggy Chiang Rai days. The afternoon brought lots of booming thunder, but no rain. We did some party shopping in the morning and had a nice visit with our friend Gary in the afternoon.

Well, the 'Summer of Love' sure holds memories for some of you. Here's more of the song: "How do I know? Maybe you're trying to use me, flying too high can confuse me. Touch me but don't bring me down. Whenever I am away from you, my alibi is tellin' people I don't care for you... __ __ __ __ __, I really, really, really wanna know"
Clue: The group started out 'young' but soon grew up. (Ha)

At 9am the temperature at the airport was reported as 86 degrees but it felt hotter. We took the dogs out early for some ball play. Daku's leg is doing fine and he loves to chase the ball, but BamBam is the real athlete. She runs like the wind and makes incredible leaps to catch the ball in the air.

We went down to Big C to pick up a few things for the party and got a big surprise. The whole store has been rearranged, which means it's hard to find things. Most stores do this at least once a year so you'll see more things to buy. What? It will take a few more visits to get used to this 'new' store.

On the way home we passed a shop that has become part of our driving routine. It's called "Happy Sister" and we made lots of jokes about it before it was completed. We're still not sure exactly what goes on, but we know there's food involved in part of the complex. I can't resist saying things like, "Where's Sister?" or "Are ya Happy today?". Today we realized that it's hard to resist. One of these days we'll stop and check it out.

When we invited our friends Gary and Baan to the party, Gary offered to help with any supplies we might need. Today he brought by some chairs and we sat and had a nice chat. He's from England and has sailed around the world. He has lots of interesting stories to tell.

Later in the afternoon we took delivery of a cabinet we bought for the bathroom. The guys who brought it spent a lot of time making sure it was level so the doors wouldn't swing open. We've been frequent patrons of this furniture store and they always give us excellent service.

Time to get back to the French Open. I'm still amazed that we're so into tennis these days. Our friend the 'Watch Guy' and his family are also fans and every time we go by the shop during tennis season, we talk about it. They don't speak much English, but we'll mention a recent match and they are up on all the players names. It's a fun thing to have common interest.

Have a Thrilling Thursday.

Peace,
Danny
