Friday Funnies

Hi,

The forecast called for rain. It always does, but today it actually happened big time. We stayed home all day and a project evolved. Tonight we're going to the Night Bazaar.

The 'Summer of Love' song was "To Sir, With Love" by Lulu, from the movie of the same name. Now you know. Hey, it's time for 'Old School Friday' and I'll bet you know this one: "I went and bought myself a ticket and I sat down in the very first row, wo wo. They pulled the curtain but then when they turned the spotlight way down low, wo, wo, __ __ came out stutting wearing nothing but a button and a bow, wo wo, singin', 'Yeah yeah! Yeah yeah..." Clue: The title is the name of a dancer and part of her name is also a country. The group had many comedic hits through the 50s. More hints later.

This morning the search for a yard stick in Lisa's studio turned into spring cleaning. We found the yard stick, along with lots of art supplies, early works by our resident artist, and things we didn't know were there. It was a good experience.

I found it interesting that the print edition of the Bangkok Post had an article on the passing of Carl Gardner, one of the founding members of The Coasters and the lead singer on many of their records. He was 83 years old.

The rain that came today was in two waves. Right before the first one hit, we were looking to the west, and the sky was gray all the way to the ground. Obviously it was raining. Then I looked out at the yard and it was on us. It grew in intensity and after a downpour it subsided. After lunch we got the second wave and it was heavier. We still managed to get in a nice swim late in the afternoon.

Our air/con did a weird thing that it's done before, dripping water. Not good when it's hot. There is some kind of mysterious blockage that occurs periodically, but they'll be out tomorrow to fix it. I'm just glad we have a good rapport with the store where we bought it and they're always willing to make things right.

We're off to the Night Bazaar for a little strolling and shopping. Friday night is a big night in Chiang Rai so it will be festive.

Have a Wonderful WeekEnd. Enjoy the 'Funnies'.

Peace,
Danny

An efficiency expert concluded his lecture with a note of caution.
"You don't want to try these techniques at home."

"Why not?" asked somebody from the audience.

"I watched my wife's routine at breakfast for years," the expert explained.
"She made lots of trips between the refrigerator, stove, table and cabinets,
often carrying a single item at a time. One day I told her, 'Hon, why don't you try carrying
several things at once?'"

"Did it save time?" the person in the audience asked.

"Actually, yes," replied the expert. "It used to take her 20 minutes to make breakfast.
Now I do it in seven."
