Enough

Hi,

Today was a beautiful day in Chiang Rai. We had the usual clouds that went from white to black, but no rain. We went to the 'little market' in the morning, and swam in the afternoon.

I'm a little surprised that more of you don't remember this 'Summer of Love' love song. Here's a bit more:
"...if you wanted the sky I would write across the sky in letters, that would soar a thousand feet high, __ __, __ __."
Hint: It's by a woman from across the pond, with one name with repeating syllables. The story is a tribute to a teacher. Hmm.

Going to the market is always an adventure. Today we found ourselves dodging motorbikes riding inside, some delivering vegetables, others making pick-ups. Many restaurants buy their produce at this market and they buy in quantity. We have several vendors that we usually go to, each having something a little different than the other. Everything is fresh from the farm and the cost is amazingly low. There are some guys who have a machine that breaks open coconuts and cleans them out. Fascinating to watch.

I've mentioned that we know most of the streets by landmark names we've given them. It turns out that lots of locals do the same. This is because they don't know the names of the streets. I have looked at some street signs and noticed that a street will be named one thing, and a few blocks later it's called something else. It can get rather confusing, so we just go by the landmarks. Bus Station Street, Clock Tower Street, Walking Street, and so on. Hey, it works.

When we began our swim this afternoon, the sun was shining brightly. There were clouds moving in the sky and by the time we were done, it was dark and windy. Nothing like the ever changing skies of Chiang Rai.

Have a Thrilling Thursday.

Peace,
Danny
