Friday Funnies

Hi,

Today was more of the same, weather wise. Chiang Rai is not getting the rain it needs, considering all the newly planted crops. Not to mention our lawns. We went out in the morning, and Lisa finished a new print in the afternoon.

That 'Summer of Love' song was "How Can I Be Sure" by The Young Rascals. 'Old School Friday' is next and I think you might know this one. "Who walks in the classroom, cool and slow? Who calls the English teacher Daddy-O? __ __, __ __, he's a clown, that __ __. He's gonna get caught, just you wait and see. (Why is everybody always pickin' on me?) Hint: It's a novelty song from '59 about a rascal at school. The group had a huge string of funny songs.

We have finally figured out the traffic patterns around town so we don't go out in the morning until about 10am. There has definitely been an increase over the time we've been here. Even with the traffic, the town is small enough that you don't need to pack a lunch in order to cross town during rush hour. Even at its worst, it's not Bangkok. (Ha)

As if on a schedule, the sky began to cloud up during lunch, and a few hours later the thunder concert began. Just as we were finishing our swim a large, dark cloud started moving in our direction and the thunder got more intense. All that came of it was a light sprinkle. Boot did some watering before dinner so the flowers were happy. The Gardenias are blooming in the back yard and the smell is delicious. In the course of watering, Boot sprayed the dogs to cool them off. Lisa went to the back door and they both came running up with big smiles on their faces.

There is a big park that used to be the grounds of a prison. Part of the wall still stands. It now serves as a recreation area for kids, with basketball nets, and an area for skateboarders. Tonight the whole thing was transformed into the Fruit Festival, with a large stage for musical presentations, and lots of booths serving food. It seems like there's always something to do in Chiang Rai.

Tomorrow night we'll go to the opening of a new exhibition at 9 Art Gallery, and Sunday we'll have the party. Oh yeah, there's also the French Open finals. Good times ahead.

Have a Wonderful WeekEnd. Now it's time for the 'Funnies'.

Peace,
Danny

The Clever Reporter

A car was involved in an accident in a street. As expected a large crowd gathered. A newspaper reporter, anxious to get his story could not get near the car.

Being a clever sort, he started shouting loudly, "Let me through! Let me through! I am the son of the victim."

The crowd made way for him.

Lying in front of the car was a donkey.
