Experience

Hi,

Today we had two distinct weather systems. The morning was sunny and hot, the afternoon was filled with dark clouds, thunder, and light rain. We managed to be out during the pleasant part, and swim between the showers.

The 'Easy' song was "School Boy Crush" by Average White Band (AWB). You knew that all the time. 'Summer of Love' brought lots of different kinds of music to our ears. This next one is still one of my favorites:
"__ __ __ __ __, in a world that's constantly changing? __ __ __ __ __ where I stand with you? Whenever I, whenever I am away from you, I wanna die 'cause you know I wanna stay with you..." Hint: Back in the day I was really groovin' on this tune. It spoke to the doubts about love. Just couldn't be certain, or could I?

The morning was full of yard activity. The crew returned to finish their work, and the pool guy came for the weekly service. By mid-morning they were all gone. We went down to Sinthanee to pick up a hard disc recorder for the TV. While we were waiting we watched a couple of music videos by a Korean 'Girl Group' named Rainbow. Very slick production, though we couldn't hear the music. Hmm.

As lunch time approached, and Boot was in Ban Du, we opted to eat at Central Plaza. Today we dined at S&P, where the menu has lots to offer, but the place is cold and drafty. We managed to get a table that was somewhat comfortable, and had a nice lunch.

It occurred to me, while watching various motorbikes on the main road, that the light weight and step-through configuration are the reason so many women ride them. That and the fact that they are much more affordable than a car. For many families, the motorbike is the 'family vehicle'. The rest of my thought was that if traffic in the U.S. would accommodate these small machines, more people could move about, and have more independence, for less gas. It could happen is some small towns I suppose.

With the election a month away, the streets are getting filled with 'speaker trucks'. These are pick-up trucks that have either loudspeaker horns on the roof, or P.A. speakers in the bed of the truck. They drive very slowly through the streets playing music, and then a recorded message/promotion from the candidate that hired them. The may also have a large poster with the candidates photo and ballot number. It's so odd to be in traffic, hear a voice, and not know where it's coming from or what it's saying. These trucks are also used to sell products and services, but I think they're all booked up during the campaign. Hmm, can you imagine?

I think it's time for Wacky Wednesday.

Peace,
Danny
