The weather looked like rain all weekend, but didn’t happen until today. It started with showers in the afternoon and it’s still happening.
The ‘Old School Friday’ song was “Tears On My Pillow” by Little Anthony & The Imperials. Now, for ‘Easy Monday’, see if this rings a bell: “If you’re down and confused, and you can’t remember who you’re talkin’ to. Concentration slips away, because your baby is so far away. Well there’s a rose in a fisted glove, and the eagle flies with the dove, and if you can’t be with the one you love, honey, __ __ __ __ __.” Hint: Not necessarily the best advice, but you know what he means.
JaiDee now has a standing ‘Play-date’ on Saturday mornings with his good friends Towan and Katai at Work@Home. Towan is the only person JaiDee is technically allowed to jump on. They have a connection that is a joy to watch. When Towan came out of his house and JaiDee spotted him, he raced as fast as he could and then they appeared to collide, both laughing (555). While we talked, he constantly petted JaiDee. When Katai entered the shop, JaiDee went over to her and sat, then snuggled up to her. He’s learning to do that instead of jumping.
By the time we got home for lunch, our little man was worn out. His morning actually started with a brief walk on the track, and then a bowl of ice at The Wanderer. The kid gets around. Later, there was a 40 minute walk in the evening at the government building. Sunday we did coffee and ice at Chivit Thamma Da and had lunch with Cat at The Wanderer. JaiDee was a perfect gentleman at both places.
Life with TongDee is going great for the humans, not so great for JaiDee. He is the reason we brought her home, yet she wants nothing to do with him. We keep reminding her that she has just one job, play with the puppy. I really don’t know how dogs think, but there are times when I think we got played by this one. They did have a great exercise session over the weekend. We had them both in the front yard and Natcha called TongDee to come over to her. JaiDee came bounding over, naive and ready to play. TongDee growled and chased him around the yard. This happened a bunch of times and we now know that she’s fast, but JaiDee’s a little faster.
Today was Songkran. Well, it was the first installment of the three day holiday. We’re not sure when the other two days will be scheduled. We didn’t drive in the areas where people normally play with water (throwing it) so we're not sure if it was actually celebrated. Tomorrow is the celebration of The King’s birthday, and it’s also a national holiday.
Today’s photo was taken at Okra Restaurant in 2017. The chef is smoking the salmon at the table for a salad. Amazing.
Have a Great Week. Mask up over your nose, wash your hands, be safe.
Peace,
Danny
