Friday Funnies

 Hi,

Carbon copy weather, yeah, that’s what we’ll call it.  So now you know how our day was.  Stay tuned for next week.

The ‘Jazzy Wednesday’ tune was “Good Morning Heartache” by Billie Holiday.  The song is even more poignant when we realize that she is singing to her addiction.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krZnoHuyCE8  Now it’s time for another ‘Old School Friday’ jam to take us back (555).  There is a list of songs that was published, that are all now 50 years old.  I’m always getting teased about using songs that are 60 to 65 years old.  So, we’ll do some tunes that are half a century old and see just how young you really are.  “Each day through my window I watch her as she passes by.  I say to myself, ‘You’re such a lucky guy’.  To have a girl like her is truly a dream come true.  Out of all the fellas in the world, she belongs to me.  But it was __ __ __, running away with me.  It was __ __ __ running away with me.”  Hint:  It’s by 5 guys from the motor city.  I’m tempted to tell you more but I imagine you already know the song.  Get it?

This morning JaiDee was thrilled to be going for a car ride.  He was on his good behavior at The Wanderer, though his best girlfriend there wasn’t around.  It’s fun watching him react as we drive through the village right before the  cafe.  Whenever he spots a dog he perks up and his head swivels around as we pass them.  I think he knows all the dogs on that ride.  We discovered that Khun Noot and the crew had made chicken puffs so we brought four home with us.  They made a great lunch.

After The Wanderer, we took JaiDee home and went out to run errands.  We brought the new printer back from the shop and when it was tested at home we got the same results.  There are a few more things to consider, but right now it’s a disappointment.  Machines.

Speaking of machines, our internet stopped working this afternoon.  I did the little procedure that is recommended but nothing happened.  After a couple of calls we got a crew out to the house.  They connected meters of various types and took photos of the screens and determined that it was ‘outside’.  They left, and returned and nothing got fixed.  We will see them again in the morning.  For now, I’m using my phone as our WiFi Hotspot.  At least we have that.  Our little connection to the outside world (5).

Today’s photo is a recent profile of our Crown Prince, JaiDee.  I think he struck a very regal pose for this one.

We are feeling very grateful that we don’t have any cases of the virus in our province.  There is a major effort in a number of provinces to keep it from spreading.  Some of the measures are meeting vocal resistance, but people are complying when necessary.  Testing is now required to move between some provinces.  I’m glad we can stay right here and do what we need to do.  We have a friend who returned from the States and is about to complete his 14 day quarantine in Bangkok.  Imagine, 2 weeks alone in a hotel with nothing but Thai food, Thai TV and one trip outside at the halfway point.  It takes what it takes.

Have a Wonderful WeekEnd.         Time for the ‘Funnies’.   Wear that mask, wash those hands, and keep that space.

                            Peace,
                                      Danny
