Three Things

Hi,

Sunday in Chiang Mai we went to a huge book store, I got some tendon relief, and we bought orchids on the highway. Today I shopped for supplies, and ballet classes resumed.

I can't believe only two people got this. This is classic stuff. 'Mabeline', 'Rock & Roll Music' and this song were included in his induction to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. This song might have been about himself. "...he never ever learned to read or write to well, but he could play his guitar just like a-ringin' a bell."

When we entered the dining room at the Mae Ping hotel, we didn't know what to expect. Since the hotel was apparently full, it was understandable that there would be lots of people in the room. The test would be to see what they were eating. It turned out that the menu was extensive. There was Thai food, Chinese food, and western food just to name a few. It was way better than our former hotel.

After breakfast we got a Tuk-Tuk driver to take us to a bookstore we were told about. He agreed to wait for us, which was very nice. Inside we found a huge selection of books as well as stationary items. Upstairs there was a section with books in English. Unfortunately, most of the books were wrapped so browsing was impossible. Lisa found a book that wasn't wrapped and it turned out to be a good read. Our driver took us back to the hotel and we just had enough time to get ready for my appointment.

Our friend Ten picked us up at the hotel and we went back to his place. The physical therapy session was two and one-half hours long, and most of it was not uncomfortable at all. He explained that there are tiny little tendons that can have an effect on our muscles if they get enflamed or too tense. I must say that today is feeling better than yesterday. Hmm.

As we headed out of Chiang Mai, without lunch, we realized it would be some time before we would find food on the road so we stopped at one of the ever-present 7-11s. We got some munchies to hold us until we got to our half way spot. Since is was Sunday afternoon, the traffic was lighter than usual and there were no big trucks to deal with. There were the occasional slow drivers but we took our time and always waited until it was safe to pass. Not everyone was of the same mind. We stopped at the hot springs and shared an order of food, had some coffee and hit the road. We made it back to town in good time and Boot had dinner waiting.

On Monday, Boot's sister Tan returned to Rayong to take care of their grandmother, who is 90 years old. It was sweet watching Boot make sure her baby sister had everything she needed for the trip home. It was her first long distance bus ride alone. I could tell that Boot would miss her.

Looks like I'm still a day behind, but tomorrow we'll bring it all together.

Have a Happy Tuesday.

Peace,
Danny

"I have just three things to teach:
simplicity, patience, compassion.
These three are your greatest treasures.
Simple in action and in thoughts, you return to the source of being.
Patient with both friends and enemies, you accord with the way things
are.
Compassionate towards yourself, you reconcile all beings in the world."
