Worry

Hi,

Clouds gathered this morning and it looked like it might rain.  A few hours later it was back to sunny and warm with a slight breeze.  At least it tried.

It seems like a lot of you remember this ‘Easy Monday’ song.  Here’s a little more to take you ’there’ (555).
“Newspaper taxis appear on the shore, waiting to take you away.  Climb in the back with your head in the clouds and you’re gone.   __ __ __ __ __ __, __ __ __ __ __ __, __ __ __ __ __ __, Aaaaahhhh.”  Clue:  There are precious stones involved.

Last night the festival atmosphere could be felt across the river at The Big Brown House.  Lisa and Daku went out to the front yard to watch the lanterns and fireworks.  I watched from upstairs.  The sounds of multiple music sources, the sight of the lanterns streaming up and then being caught by the current of air, and the fireworks all added up to magic.  Because of the air currents we didn’t get any ‘ghost lanterns’ in the yard or on the house.  I call them ghosts because by the time the fire burns out inside, the smoke has turned them a strange gray color.

This evening we had our version of a Thanksgiving dinner.  Lisa baked chicken and potatoes, and made a special gravy.  It was delicious.  Cat didn’t know about the holiday so we explained it to her.  She told us about her adventures at Boon Rawd Farm last night.  Apparently there were so many people at the concert and celebration that they had to shuttle folks back to their vehicles at the end.  It took them 2 hours to get out.  It was still a fun time and the music was good.

Tonight the energy from the festival is markedly lower.  People in the village are still setting off various things that pop and whistle, so it won’t be a totally quiet evening, but it’s not the war zone of last night.  I’m sure Daku is happy about this.

Tomorrow we’re going to the mall.  It will be my first time there since my surgery.  It’s been a month and the discomfort is gone.  Now it’s a matter of building up stamina.  For my first ‘malling’ I have figured out where to park in order to not have to walk too far to get to the stores we need.  Deviously brilliant.

Today’s photo was taken on our front lawn.  This beautiful, lone mushroom was a nice surprise.

Have a Thrilling Thursday

          Peace,
                    Danny
