Life

Hi,

There was a forecast of rain and it looked possible for a short time.  Then it turned into a beautiful, hot day.  'Same as it ever was.'

‘Easy Monday’ was “Eleanor Rigby” by The Beatles.  It’s time to get ‘Zany’ with a song from 1978.  Remember this?
“Young man, there’s no need to feel down.  I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground.  I said, young man, ‘cause you’re in a new town, there no need to be unhappy…. It’s fun to stay at the __-__-__-__, it’s fun to stay at the __-__-__-__.”  Clue: Each dash is a letter.  There, I’ve given it away (555).

Today was an inside day.  Well, almost.  I drove Lisa to a couple of errands this evening and it was nice to get out.  On Clock Tower street I got to see the hustle and bustle of dinner time.  There is one very long city block with a combination of sit-down restaurants, take-away shops, and food carts.  On one corner of the Clock Tower circle the "Cat Coffee" place has opened.  We just got a glimpse, so we really don’t know if there are cats inside or not.  Closer inspection from outside will be necessary.  I say ‘outside’ because I am deathly allergic to cats, so I won’t be tasting the coffee.

The ‘High Season’ has just begun and the evening traffic shows it, at least on the streets with attractions.  When I’m a little better we’ll have to go down to the Night Bazaar.  We haven’t been there in ages and it’s time to go ’shopping’.  In the meantime, local merchants will benefit from the influx of visitors.

The bug-spray people came today and we learned that it usually takes four treatments to get rid of ticks.  That means there is hope.  We were hoping that the combination of spraying and a good rainy season would give us and Daku a break.  Now it’s up to the spray since the rain seems to have forgotten us.  He still brings his little friends in the house, but it’s not as bad as it used to be.

I’m not a fan of cigar smoking, but I found it interesting that the menu at Chivit Tamma Da has half a page devoted to a selection of Cuban cigars.

You might say it’s a Wacky Wednesday.

                Peace,
                          Danny
