Harmony

Hi,

Chiang Rai had another beautiful day, though I didn't get to experience it.  I spent most of the day in bed.  Things are getting better, and that's what counts.

The 'Easy Monday' song that so many of you knew was "Respect" as sung by Aretha Franklin, written by Otis Redding.  Once again, it's time for our 'Zany Day' song.  "I met her in a club down in old Soho, where you drink champagne and it tastes just like cherry-cola.  C-o-l-a cola.. She walked up to me and she asked me to dance, I asked her her name and in a dark brown voice she said __..."  Hint:  Some might say this tune is kinda 'kinky' (555).  It came from across the pond and it's a zany love story.  The title is a name.

This morning I was lying on the bed, moaning and groaning while watching the Australian Open when all of a sudden the picture was gone.  A notice appeared on the screen that was all too familiar.  Something about the socket not being properly connected, blah blah blah.  This happened last week and was supposed to have been fixed.  We had Boot call the service tech to set up a visit.  As usual, they arrived a little before the appointed time.  This time there were four guys in the truck.  Not sure what the point was, but maybe they were trainees.  On today's visit they finally focused on the dish itself.  That seemed to do the trick, we hope.  We missed a match we wanted to see, but they replay the whole day at night.  Hmm, tennis junkie.

There was an interesting revelation about BamBam today.  The pool guys were working and she kept barking at them.  She's known them for a long time and it seemed odd.  It turns out that she only likes one of them.  I guess we'll just have to put up with her barking from time to time.

Our friends at The Sold Project took the kids to Anantara Resort Elephant Camp for an outing.  For many of the children it was the first time they had ever seen an elephant.  They got the childrens' version of mahout training and had a fun day.  Today's photo was taken while they were helping the mahouts bathe the elephants before training.

                                     Splish Splash

When we were at Big C earlier this week I noticed a display of decorations for Chinese New Year.  It doesn't happen until February 10, but all the goodies are out now.  It won't be long before we'll start hearing fireworks going off (make that explosions).

We'd been wondering if we would get a chance to see the Super Bowl, and then I started seeing commercials for it during the tennis matches.  The only thing about watching it here in Thailand is that we won't get to see the commercials, and that's a big part of the fun.  Oh well, the game should be good.

Time for more remedies, more tennis and a good nights sleep.

Hey, it's Wacky Wednesday.

                        Peace,
                                   Danny
