Dance

Hi,
We had a very nice weekend here in Chiang Rai. No rain to speak of, just blue skies and humidity. We baby-sat the dogs and hit the town on Sunday.
The weekend song was "Whiter Shade of Pale" by Procol Harum. Seems that one took some of you back a ways. "Woke up, fell out of bed, dragged a comb across my head. Found my way downstairs and drank a cup, and looking up, I noticed I was late..." Clue: It's by those four guys we know so well. Kind of a narrative with some odd references. Very dramatic ending. Hmm.
Our weekend was mellow, with Lisa painting, me working again on mastering the hanging of the dog bowl, and swimming. Saturday we had no rain so it was a pleasant break.
On Sunday, Boot went on a little road trip with some friends, which meant we had total dog duty. The 'kids' are really getting along well except when BamBam gets a little hyper during their play. She makes this growling sound that sounds like she's really tearing into Daku but she's very gentle. It just gets a little irritating after a while. That means she gets a 'time out'. When that doesn't work, they have to be separated. When they're just hanging out they will trade bones (rawhide chews) or play tug-of-war with a piece of rope. Sometimes one of them will be resting and the other will bring a toy over and just drop it on the other one's head. Those are the times when they are really cute. Daku is starting to get the upper hand on BamBam in some of their play battles and that means she has to escalate her strategies. It's all very entertaining.
We went to Black Canyon for Sunday lunch and when we walked in the manager asked us if we wanted buffalo steak. We all had a good laugh over that. We did our usual supply shopping and went home to tend to the dogs. That evening we went to the Night Bazaar, since it wasn't raining. There had been an afternoon shower but it was brief. We did some shopping after dinner, picking up things we planned to bring to America.
Boot had planned to be home Sunday night but called in the evening to say that she was staying over in Mae Chan. That meant a slumber party with the dogs. They did pretty well except for the fact that BamBam kept thinking she heard Boot come home and would get anxious. I'd have to take her down and show her that Boot wasn't home. She sleeps in Boot's apartment so her routine was thrown off. She finally settled down and both dogs slept most of the night. At one point Daku got caught under the bed and woke us up with a desperate whimper. Lisa just dragged him out and he went back to sleep. He's almost five months old and still doesn't realize how big he is.
Today we went out with Boot and enrolled her in another session of English classes at the A.U.A. language school. She started tonight. She also took us to her hair stylist so we could set up appointments for tomorrow.
Tuesday is going to be a very busy day for us. I'll tell you all about it tomorrow.
Have a Fabulous Week.
Peace,
Danny
