Hope

Hi,

It’s 5:25am in Bangkok, waiting to board in one hour for our flight to Tokyo.  I mis-spoke on Friday, I had Hong Kong on my mind.  Anyway, we’re looking at a 6 hour flight to Narita Airport in Tokyo.  Needless to say, it’s hot outside.

The ‘Old School Friday’ song was “Do You Believe In Magic” by The Lovin’ Spoonful.  Now, for an ‘Easy Monday’ song that should wake up a ton of memories, if you’re old enough (555):  “If you see me walking down the street, and I start to cry each time we meet.  __ __ __, __ __ __.”  Hint:  That should be enough to get you started.  It was from 1964.

Natcha made a video of Nitchanan going through all of the little books from her Saturday English class, identifying animals, vehicles and body parts.  She’s really good at it.

Our airport adventure has been a little frustrating so far.  We tried to check out bags with the airline and just as they were about to go down the conveyor belt, they noticed that it was a day early.  We had to wait until 3:45am to check in.  That meant our plans to hang out in the EVA lounge were dashed upon the rocks.  Ever the brave travelers, we went and got an hour massage that was wonderful.  The idea of getting coffee at 10:30pm is usually out of the question, but this was a special occasion, an all-nighter.  Somewhere around 1am I got a little nap, but otherwise it’s been a long time since sleep.  Because we were transferred to another airline, the section where we normally book our seats was full, so we had to stand in a long line to check in.  We got the ‘Fast Pass’ through immigration control and now we’re waiting for our plane.  Whew.

We had lots of visits before we left, and the memory of those will ease the struggle on this trip.  Saturday, we went back to Dr. Arnon, Daku’s doctor, for another blood test/final check-up.  Everything was normal and all his various ‘levels’ were in the right places.  When we left the office, we decided to go for coffee with Daku.  We went to Work@Home on the chance that he might see his friends Katai and Towan.  They were there and had a brief time before a meeting.  They came over Sunday and had a real ‘Play Date’, bringing him toys and rolling around like kids.

We only have a 1 hour layover in Tokyo, one of the shortest in all our travels.  There are some cookies that our friend Eddie told us about and we want to find them.  I’ll send this from Narita so if anyone asks, you got mail from Japan this morning, or whatever time it is when you get this (555).  Well, that never happened.  We had no layover in Tokyo, literally running from one gate to the next.  Anyway, here it is.

Have a Great Week.

                       Peace,
                                 Danny
