Courage

Hi,

The weather in West Los Angeles was cool on Monday morning.  We finally left the airport around 10:30am, got our car from Hertz and ventured into the world.  Here’s what we did, we got phone numbers, so now it’s a local call for two weeks (555).  Danny = (213) 274-6806.  Lisa = (213) 274-6867

‘Easy Monday’ was easy for a few.  Maybe the second verse will strike a chord:  “I just can’t get over losing you, and so if I seem broken and blue, __ __ __, __ __ __.  Foolish pride, that’s all that I have left, so let me hide the tears and the sadness you gave me when you said goodbye, __ __ __ (don’t stop), __ __ __ (don’t stop), __ __ __ (don’t stop), __ __.”  Clue:  Refers to a basic form of human transportation, urging the listener to continue on their way.

Mr. Lag is taking us to new heights of lows.  A mandatory afternoon nap was followed by a groggy shopping trip for just enough for dinner and a few snacks.  After eating, there was this urge to go back to sleep.  Like a magnate pulling from under the bed.  Thought about coffee, but thought better of it.  The idea this time is to deny that we’ve been up for the better part of two days and just plow ahead on a normal schedule.  He said, “555 my friends.  We shall see.”  Indeed.

Today’s photo was taken at Chiang Rai International Airport before our first flight on this adventure.  We went upstairs to the Food Court with Cat and her boyfriend Noom.  We got two chicken and rice dinners for $5 US and it was good.  Just enough to hold us before our second dinner in Bangkok later in the evening.  We didn’t eat at this place in the photo, but the spelling of the word definitely caught my eye.

This afternoon we spent some time hanging out with ‘The Boys’, who are now young men.  Nothing like ‘Life Updates’.

The apartment at their home was recently painted and it gave a new spark to an already warm and welcoming domain.

There are many thoughts about things to do while we’re here, but right now they take a back seat to closing the eyes and sleeping.  You know it’s bad when you think you’re awake and then you hear your breathing, as if it were someone else.  Welcome to the 'Twilight Zone', or should we call it, 'The Land of Lag’?  Yeah, I’m goin’ with that.

Have a Happy Tuesday and here’s to a wide awake week.

                      Peace,
                                Danny
