Freedom

Hi,

Well, you guessed it, the weather was the same as yesterday.  Cloudy, hot and a rain teaser.

I guess we’re gonna need more lyrics and better hints to get this ‘Zany Day’ song:  “Yeah, I was just thirteen, you might say I was a musical, proverbial knee-high, when I heard a couple of new-sounding tunes on the tubes and they blasted me sky-high.  And a record man said every one is a Yellow Sun Record from Nashville.  And up north there ain’t nobody buys them and I said, ‘But I will.  And it was __ __, play clean as country water.  __ __, play wild as mountain dew.  __ __, been playin’ since they’s babies.  __ __, get work before they’re two.”  Hint:  There’s a major hint in the lyrics, could be a location from the title, I don’t know (555).  Tomorrow I’ll give you a link to the song so it can loop in your head like it does in mine.

This morning’s adventure began with a short trip to The Wanderer.  They have been plagued by a half-finished access road.  One lane of concrete provides entry as long as only one car uses the concrete.  The rains have put off completion.  We made it inside and found our favorite outside table.  Our friend Mercy came over and visited with us, getting lots of petting and scratching.  Then Noot visited, left and came back with homemade scones and jam.  She left and her daughter Kwan arrived for a session of ‘Dog Talk’.  She knew Mercy was with us because she has a special sound (Husky talk) she make when she greets us and Kwan knows that sound.  The little puppy is being trained by Kwan and Mercy.  Mercy seems to have a strong instinct about Joey and helps with certain tasks.  It was  very pleasant time, sitting on the edge of the woods.

On the way to Makro, we made a brief stop at ArtBridge.  Makro was also brief, just getting some last minute essentials for the dog and house before our trip.  Our last thing on the list was Browney’s, for treats for Daku.  His favorite fish sticks were out of stock, but a very helpful staff member found something with no chicken and it passed the Daku test.  Of course, anything that goes in the mouth could pass the Daku test.

This afternoon there was another encounter with the kitten on the wall and Daku has become obsessed with going outside to see one or all of the tiny creatures.

Today’s photo is a flowering plant that Gong recently put in the ground.  It replaced a tree that was slowly dying and never liked it’s location.   I like the shock of color that it brings against the green trees.

This season we have had a sudden butterfly invasion.  There are many different kinds and they all have their preferences, but our yard definitely attracts them.  Makes me think that maybe we need rocking chairs at different spots around the house so we can just rock and enjoy all the nature.  Hmm.

Have a Thrilling Thursday.

                       Peace,
                                 Danny

please, but as the opportunity
to do what is right.”
