Lift

Hi,

After a day of travel, we're in America. Steering wheel on the left, wipers on the right, blinker on the left, and a heater. Welcome back.

I guess everyone was out rowing around town, doing last minute shopping. Only one response to the '67 song that begins with: "Would you like to ride in my beautiful, my beautiful balloon?" Hint: Is that really necessary? It's by a group that's named for a portion of the space/time continuum.

The trip went pretty smoothly. It appeared to be a full flight from Taipei to Los Angeles. We traveled high above the earth and arrived at LAX on time. We rode around the airport and finally there was an announcement that they were looking for a parking place, since another plane was in ours. It took about 20 minutes after we landed before we could deplane. We were so relieved to see a dry sky.

When we arrived at the house, August had set up a greeting for us in the little apartment. He made a fireplace DVD and had it playing on the TV. There was a new dresser, and Anna had food waiting for us. A home-cooked dinner is just the thing after a day of airline food. We sat around with Jeff and Anna and did some catching up, I got a tour of August's room, hung out with C-Bass, and then began unpacking.

Today we jump into things with both feet. Most of our shopping is done, but things have to be wrapped and tagged. We have to get 'provisions' for our kitchen, and set up various lunches, dinners, and get togethers that will fill the next three weeks.

As the keeper of the 'tech' stuff, I forgot to pack our 'Airport', a device that lets us disperse the internet signal to our two computers. So, we won't have a connection until I get a replacement.
