Patience

 Hi,

Our weather has been amazing the last two days.  Bluer than blue skies, hot but not too hot temps, and mild evenings.  Hmm, waiting for winter (555).

The ‘Easy Monday’ song was “Fame” by Irene Cara.  This brings us to ‘Jazzy Wednesday’ and a big band favorite:
“Cigarette holder which wigs me, over her shoulder she digs me, out cattin’, that __ __.”  Hint:  This jazz standard was written in 1953.  The key (first) word in the title is a smooth, shiny material fabric used, in this case, as an adjective to describe the second word.

This morning was an ‘out in the street’ day.  It started with coffee at The Wanderer, shopping at Big C, more shopping at HomePro, a quick stop at the bakery, and finally the pharmacy.

Today’s photo was taken ay Big C, by the check-out.  The wheels and tires are a new, temporary, addition.  Note the gold counter behind the tires.  The area is used to provide a rotating platform for different vendors.  Tires seem a bit much, but what do I know?   They sell motorcycles and ATVs at the other end of the floor.

The stop at the pharmacy brought back memories.  Yesterday I determined that I had been attacked by the ‘common cold’.  I’ve decided not to say that I ‘caught a cold’ because it was not my intention to feel like this (555).  Anyway, when we first arrive in Chiang Rai, there was a pharmacy on the main street, owned by a man who had studied in Switzerland.  He spoke very good English and it made it easy to describe symptoms, etc.  The first time we needed something for a cold, he told us about a product that was not so common in the US or Thailand at the time.  We got some, it worked, and it’s been a part of the ‘family’ ever since.  Now you know why we stopped at the pharmacy.

The water was a little warmer today and swimming was great.  Now I have to start doing the before and after stuff that one really should do when exercising: warming up before, and stretching after.  Grateful that I can exercise.

Feels like a Wacky Wednesday.      Don’t forget your mask, and don’t forget to cover your nose.

                           Peace,
                                     Danny
