Listen

Hi,

We're in a weather pattern that is going on for a long time. We are in need of rain to wash the sky. It's not the time for it, but the whole country needs some rain. I had my morning adventure, and a relatively mellow day.

There were enough responses to this one to let me know that it was an easy one. So, here's a little more. Write me.
"Like a true nature's child, we were __, __ __ __ __, we can climb so high I never want to die. __ __ __ __, __ __ __ __." Clue: I think the need for clues is over. Now you need to tell me the song. (555)

This morning I got to Toyota just as their day was getting started. I was the first customer of the morning. While I waited for someone to check me in, I watched as the mechanics had their morning formation. It didn't have the precision of a military formation, but they lined up in five rows and stood listening to a morning talk. This happens with most businesses and I suppose it's as much for morale building as it is for notes on changes and updates. When I finally met with someone it was a trainee. The guy who set up the appointment looked over his shoulder for a few minutes and then left. Oh no, now what? It took him some time to get all the info into the computer, and then, after a phone call and a conversation with another staff member, they told me one of the parts would take 45 days to arrive. I ended up getting two new tires.

Khun Sing was waiting for me with his Tuk-Tuk when I finished with the car business. The air had warmed up from the initial 6:30 temp so the ride home wasn't as bad as I had imagined. We asked him to return at 1pm, since the car was to be ready by 12n.

The pool had more work done this morning by Khun Churn, who is the specialist when it comes to fine cement and technical affairs. He worked by himself, sealing and smoothing and reshaping the bottom of the channel. We'll just have to wait to find out what happens next.

After lunch Khun Sing came and picked us up for the ride back to Toyota. Lisa hadn't been in a Tuk-Tuk in Chiang Rai in a long time. She rode in one last weekend in Chiang Mai, but riding around up here is different. Anyway, we had to stop to get change and we asked Sing to stop at 7-11. We didn't know why he wasn't understanding what we were saying until we arrived. The logo on the chain shows the number 7 with the word 'eleven' written across the middle. Sing calls it '7'. Oh, now we get it. When we got to Toyota the car wasn't ready. They needed to do a road test so we sat for 20 minutes in the lounge. The biggest surprise came when we finished shopping at Big C and I opened the trunk to find two used tires sitting there. Why would I want the tires I just replaced because they were damaged? Hmm, I have no answer. We took them back for disposal at the dealer.

Boot had a visit from her 'Fan Club' this afternoon. The daughter of one of her friends and two of her buddies came over. They've been over before, but today they came to do a photo shoot. They were cute, picking locations for backgrounds, posing and then moving to another spot in the yard. They made it all the way around the house, then they wanted to play with the dogs. We let BamBam out since Daku is still overly friendly for his size. BamBam barked a bunch and I guess they played for a few minutes. The whole thing had Boot in a cheery mood, laughing with and at the girls. Nothing like the laughter of children to bring things into perspective.

Have a Thrilling Thursday.

Peace,
Danny
