Tension

Hi,

Yesterday was quite a day of adventure. I'll give you an overview and fill in some blanks later. We're in Pescadero now, after a good night's sleep.

That 'Easy Monday' song was "America" by Simon & Garfunkel. Once again, it's 'Summer of Love' time.
"There's nothing you can do that can't be done. There's nothing you can sing that can't be sung.... It's easy. __ __ __ __ __ (repeat) Clue: This is so easy, you get no clue.

Our Tuesday wake-up call was 5am. When we arrived in San Jose, we were in a different terminal than previous trips. We asked a woman, at a rental counter, where the car rental center was located. "Through the double doors to where the sun shines." Oh. That would be a bus stop where we waited to be taken to the desired location. When we got to the stall with our car, it was smaller than expected. It was verging on tiny so we asked for a mid-sized. They were all booked so now we're cruising the Bay Area in a Chevy Malibu. Nice car with plenty of room and great on the highway.

Lunch with the Oakland Cousins was really nice. We met at the Thai restaurant we used to go to when we first started these lunches. It's actually a 'fusion' type place so it's not really like 'home' but the food is good. We shared lots of stories, laughs and pictures.

From our lunch in Oakland we headed south to Palo Alto for dinner. Once again, the timing couldn't have been better. We stopped in San Leandro for coffee. Mr. Lag was trying to make an appearance. Considering that I'd had no nap in two days, I was doing pretty good. Anyway, we got to Palo Alto right on time and went to the Chinese restaurant that Joe and Eva love. Karen Jo was with us and we had some fond memories of her visit to Chiang Rai.

The next part of our trip was a complete unknown. Driving from P.A. to Pescadero. More coffee please. We had directions from our friend Bill that began with: 'Head West on Highway 84 towards Thailand'. Of course that cracked us up. We followed the directions and, after one wrong driveway, we found the house. We were greeted by Ruffy, a beautiful Collie. We hung out with Bill, Rachelle and Cordelia (Coco) for about an hour, talking about our trip, Thai politics, and animal life in the area. We are staying in a guest house on property across the Pacific Coast Highway from the ocean. It's very peaceful here. Time to go enjoy it.

It's time for Wacky Wednesday.

Peace,
Danny
