Learn

Hi,

And then the rains came. It started raining in the middle of the night and continued through the morning. Mostly light drizzle, but still rain. Lisa had lunch with a good friend, and I continued with my project. The dogs finally got to play outside in the afternoon. We also made some decisions as to what we want to see during the festival weekend.

'Easy Monday' was a hit with a lot of you. It was "Lady Marmalade" by LaBelle. Back by popular demand, it's 'Old Folk Crap' time. This week's song should be familiar to even non-folkies. "My mother was a tailor. She sewed my new blue jeans. My father was a gambling man, down in New Orleans." Clue: Those lyrics are from the second verse. The title is in five words. It's about a place, and it dates back way before most of us were born.

The rain we got today is probably the tail end of some major storms that have been causing flooding in the north east. The two women who give us our massages were planning to go home to visit in one of the cities that has had flooding. We don't know if they went or not.

Lisa and Sutheera went out to lunch, while I dined at home. Boot made a delicious meal for me of shrimp with flat noodles. I must admit, it was a little odd eating alone. Sutheera has a heavier teaching load at the university this term, and it's been a long time since they had a chance to get together and talk.

Tomorrow evening we'll go to the Mantrini Hotel for an exhibit put on by art students who will be creating abstract works during the exhibition. It should be interesting. Friday night we'll go to The River House Hotel to hear the Chiang Rai Youth Orchestra, and see some traditional Thai dancing. Saturday night it's big band music at the Legend Hotel, by a group from Amsterdam. Whew, my head is spinning.

As if that weren't enough, the bicycle riders are out on the streets training for the 'Tour de Upper Lana' which is on Sunday and Monday. Who says things don't happen in Chiang Rai? This place is Amazing.

Time for a Wacky Wednesday.

Peace,
Danny
