Gift

Hi,

I guess you know how the weather was today. Same as it ever was. We made a little vet run in the morning, and had a brainstorming meeting in the afternoon. Oh yes, and last night we had a plumbing incident.

A lot of you figured out that the 'Easy Monday' song was "My Funny Valentine". I have no idea who first recorded it, but I love the way Sarah Vaughn sings it. It was written by Rogers and Hart. For some mid week fun, see if you remember this one: "__ __ __ __, so don't forget it. It's just a silly phase I'm going through..." Hint: it's from 1975, by a group from across the pond. Their name is a measurement. It's a song of denial. Hmm.

Last night, as we were settling down to watch more Olympics, there was a loud hissing sound that came from the bathroom. We dashed in to find hot water running out from under the sink. When the doors were opened, it sprayed out into the room. At first I couldn't tell where it was coming from due to the steam and spray. I finally got my wits about me and went out in front of the house and turned off the water. The bathroom floor was a pool of water, but thankfully there's a drain so it had somewhere to go. While I was turning off the water, Lisa was busy trying to rescue all the things that are stored under the sink. The only thing that didn't survive was some Charmin toilet paper we brought from America. Oh well. With the water off I located the shut off valve for the hot water under the sink. After mopping up we took a deep breath. Khun Pet came over this afternoon and took the offending hose with him. He'll return tomorrow and replace it.

This morning we finally met our vet Dr. Arnon's wife. She was working in the store side of his complex and she knew who we were once we made the BamBam association. We picked up some flea medicine for the dogs, along with some treats. The monthly treatment we give them seems to keep them free from pests.

This afternoon we met with Third and his assistant at Doi Chaang Coffee for an 'idea' session centered around the big dinner boat. About half way into our discussion, Khun Jaffee came in for some coffee. He had seen the boat from Le Meridien on Saturday night and was interested in using it. We all ended up having a very inspired, productive little meeting with lots of great ideas. As things unfold, I'll fill you in.

On the way home today, on our road, we passed a man pushing a big cart full of bags of some kind of crop, with two small children riding on top of the bags. It was such a contrast to everything around them. Amazing Thailand.

Time for Wacky Wednesday.

Peace,
Danny

Do not make the mistake of
thinking that you have no gift to give.
Everyone has a gift.
But don't compare your gift to the gifts of others,
or you may not value it sufficiently."
