Solution

Hi,

Today was 'Lamp Day'. No, it's not a Thai holiday, it was a day of trying to fix a lamp. It was also a day with two bits of rain and lots of sunshine. Hmm.

A few of you met the challenge and knew the song. It dates back to the '60's so maybe you have an excuse.
"...And feeling good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues. You know feeling good was good enough for me.
Good enough for __ __ __ __." Clue: The title includes a person's name. It's kind of a folky blues thing.

We have a lamp that we brought from America when we moved. It has some sentimental value and we like the light. The knob on the switch broke off and it requires a pair of pliers to turn it on and off. It's also made to work on 110v and not the 220v that is the system here. My plan was to find someone to replace the socket and switch and then we'd have a 'local' current lamp that worked. While Lisa was getting her hair done I made the rounds of all the shops and came up empty. Finally, at the last stop the owner offered a solution. She sold us an inline switch so we could still use it with the power converter we have. Nice. Now I just have to install it and hope I don't blow the place up. (Ha)

During lunch it started to sprinkle. We figured it would be another light rain. A few minutes into the shower it turned into a downpour that lasted about 15 minutes. That's good for the lawns and the new trees. Later in the afternoon we were about to go for a swim and it started doing the same thing. Another 15 minute downpour. Now we don't have to water. We never did get our swim.

All of the motorbikes have a basket on the front. It sits in front of the headlight and usually blocks the beam if there are packages in the basket. Hmm. Tonight I was pulling out of a parking lot and I heard a dog barking. I looked around and the sound was moving towards me. It was a little dog riding in the basket of a motorbike, back-lit by the headlight, happily barking it's head off. Eerie but cute.

If Daku could talk he'd probably tell us that he may be Golden but he's not a Retriever. He doesn't like to bring balls back when you throw them. He'll run after the ball but he won't bring it back. He won't even pick it up. It's not in his job description or something. I think he's a Golden Sleeper.

Have a Great Thursday.

Peace,
Danny
