Friday Funnies

Hi,

It was a warm, drizzley day in Chiang Rai. We revisited the lighting store, swam, and planned a real vacation.

The song was "Me & Bobby McGee" as sung by Janis Joplin. The song was written and recorded by Kris Kristopherson. Janis had the big recording on this one. For the weekend, see if you remember this one:
"__ __ __ __, it's gone away from me. (repeat). Although I'll still live on, but so lonely I'll be." Hint: It's obviously a blues. The singer's guitar has a name. Extra points for that name.

Between the baby storms yesterday and the drizzle today we should be set for at least a week. Not that it's over by a long shot. We're still in the rainy season for a little while longer. This time of year all the plant life is lush and green. One of the things that makes it so wonderful is the random tropical foliage that's everywhere. The backyard is really starting to fill in and some of the corner trees and bushes are looking like they've been there for years. I'll take some pics this weekend and post them on the Flickr site.

The lamp we bought yesterday just didn't fit our style, the room, or the lighting requirements. After trying to make it work, we took it back this afternoon. The woman at the store tried to get all weird on us but Lisa wasn't having any of it. We got our money back. The switch I was going to install didn't work either. I cut the proper part of the cord, opened the switch and found that the wire wouldn't fit inside the switch. While we were at the store I got a bigger switch but it's also a mystery. Tomorrow we'll go to a different lighting store.

We've been living in Thailand for almost two years and we've never ventured south, to the beaches on the east coast of the country. That's all about to change. Today we made reservations for a three day holiday in the coastal city of Krabi. We found a resort hotel that's across the road from the beach. There are boats that we can take to some of the islands on a half-day excursion. This is the part of Thailand where the water is that crystal clear travelogue blue. Snorkeling is definitely on the agenda also. We'll be going next month after the art show gets going. More on all this later.

Boot told us that Daku hid one of his bones from BamBam by putting it in his water bowl. Clever dog. BamBam does this thing, when they're playing outside, where she jumps straight up into the air. It's the weirdest, most amazing thing to watch. Kinda like a flea. Don't tell her I said that.

It's time for the 'Funnies'. Have a Wonderfilled WeekEnd.

Peace,
Danny

An 8-year-old girl went to her dad, who was working in the yard. She
asked him, "Daddy, what is sex?" The father was surprised that she
would ask such a question, but decides that if she is old enough to
ask the question, then she is old enough to get a straight answer. He
proceeded to tell her all about the "birds and the bees." When he
finished explaining, the little girl was looking at him with her mouth
hanging open. The father asked her, "Why did you ask this question?"
The little girl replied, "Mom told me to tell you that dinner would be
ready in just a couple of secs."
