Patient

Hi,

"This is going to be real short. It's storming outside, the lights are out and my laptop is running out of power. So, the Adventure continues." That's what I wrote a few minutes ago, then the power returned. Boy are you lucky. (555) That was about to be the shortest ever.

The song over the weekend was "Cold As Ice" by Foreigner. Ha. Lots of you got that one. Let's see how you do with this:
"Long as I remember, the rain been comin' down. Clouds of mystery pourin', confusion on the ground. Good men through the ages, tryin' to find the sun; And I wonder, still I wonder, __ __ __ __." Hint: Something about weather by a band whose name is still a mystery to me. (I just know someone will explain.)

We've been wanting rain for some time now and it's good that it's here. It's the lightning that seems to cause the problems with the power company. (my guess) You could say 'you don't miss the power 'til the lights go out.'

We left off with you not knowing what happened on Friday. Well, we took Kristin to the main market downtown where all the action is. It's something to experience if you ever come to Thailand or any other place that has such a market. The sights, sounds and smells are so different and at times overwhelming. At one point we were overtaken with the smell of the chili peppers cooking in the eating area.

From the market we went to King Mengrai Square and took pictures. Then we went into a building we'd never visited that had local products. It's sort of a promotional thing and we discovered lots of nice trinkets. Kristin found a gift for her brother and we headed for the flower market. We just drove through, looking at all the beautiful flowers and arrangements.

Friday evening we had dinner at the Night Bazaar. After picking up the last of her souvenirs, Kristin noticed the Swenson's Ice Cream Parlor so we stopped there for dessert. Imagine, having ice cream in northern Thailand at a place that was started in San Francisco.

We ended the evening hanging out with the dogs and later looking at pictures from the week. Early Saturday morning we headed to the airport and said farewell.

The thunder is rolling and the lights are flickering so I'll be signing off for now. Have a Wonderful Week.

Peace,
Danny
