Doubts

Hi,

Today in Chiang Rai the weather was a tiny bit cooler than yesterday. Still hot with patchy blue sky. Forecast calls for rain. Another full day on the compound. Pool talk filled the morning, dog play in the evening. Oh, how can this be?

"Who'll Stop The Rain" was done by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Of course Lane found the meaning behind the group name for us:
"They changed their name to Creedence Clearwater Revival, reportedly in honor of a friend of rhythm guitarist Tom's named Credence Nuball. The new name came from three sources: Creedence: from "credence," a belief in themselves, Clearwater: initially it came from a beer commercial, but it resonated more strongly with the burgeoning environmental movement via an anti-pollution TV commercial, Revival: from the hope to revive the band's career." Don't know what their name was before the change, but CCR, as they were often called, became a rock staple in the late 60's and early 70's.

"I'll be standing on the corner, Twelfth Street and Vine (repeat) with my __ __ and a bottle of __ __ wine." Hint: You don't have to be from the song's era to know this one. A bit of a standard in Popular music. Oh, someplace in the 'show me' state might be a clue.

Daku is turning out to have quite a personality. It's hard to remember sometimes that he's still a baby (grows every night while we sleep). He does stuff that seems 'goofy' and then we remember how old he is. Like that thing most puppies do with their paws in their water bowls. BamBam did it and we dealt with it. Daku takes it a bit further. He beats the water as it he were fishing. Twice today we went into the kitchen area where he hangs out and there was water all over the floor. Hmm. On the other hand, we're talking about a dog who takes the greatest joy in playing with an empty plastic water bottle. It's kinda loud, but so entertaining.

Right now both dogs are in our bedroom and BamBam has a ball in her mouth, wrestling with Daku. She lets him grab it and then they have a tug-o-war. It's animal comedy at it's best.

Johan and his Thai pool specialist came over this morning to assess our situation. Blue and I had come up with a plan and it's the same one that was formulated today. See, we know this stuff. (555) Next week the pool with be drained (sigh) and alternate filler pipes will be installed and camouflaged. Keeping a brave face through it all.

We thought we might be going out this evening to pay the water bill. You know, a 7-11 run, which is where utilities are paid. It still cracks me up, so to speak, that we pay our bills at 7-11. Most people don't have checking accounts so it's easier on the utilities to allow payment in this fashion. I'm not complaining a bit.

Have a very Wacky Wednesday.

Peace,

Danny
