World

Hi,
Today was storm clean-up day. Not so much for us, but there were a lot of people with wind damage and major leaks. It's one thing when the rain comes down, but when it comes sideways, all sorts of things happen.
In case you were wondering, the song was "Urgent" by Foreigner. Ahh yes, now you remember. Lois inspired me to pick this:
"__, if I pray every night, you'll come back to me. __ , if I cry everyday, you'll come back to stay. Ohhh, __." Clue: It's by a Girl Group from, shall we say, my younger days. Probably on of the biggest in their era. I think you'll get this easy, even if you weren't born yet. (Ha)
It turns out we were very lucky, or had planned well. The storm blew a little water in the house, but at least parts of the roof didn't blow away and no trees fell on anything. We do have one tree, our plumeria that's leaning a bit too much. Kak will come over tomorrow and give it some support. And to think we thought the rainy season was over. Maybe this is residual something from the cyclone (hurricane) that hit Taiwan.
We had some rain today. Light in the morning and then it really came down late this afternoon. It's good for the air, and the fields, but further south, there's been too much rain and the ground is saturated. As far as Chiang Rai goes, it's been a safe season. They're starting to sell jackets at Big C and the Night Bazaar, which means that winter's coming. Low 60s is very cold for a lot of people here. Probably will be cold for us this year. We have plenty of warm things if it gets 'cold'.
Our neighbor, Mr. Narong, has been working on his property for a couple of weeks now. He's erected a traditional Northern style facade over his front gate and some other roof-like structures next to it. He used to have three little deer in a pen. They're gone and now he has three big cows that live in the field beside his house. I kept hearing a deep 'moo' that seemed to be too regular. Cows come and go and I know some that live in the village, but this was close by. Boot found out they are his cows. Now the question is, what do you do with these cows? Maybe he's going into the lawn cutting business. That's the common use for the cows in these parts. They herd them to the vacant fields and they do their thing. If I find out, I'll share.
It's time for Wacky Wednesday.

Peace,
Danny
