Seeds

Hi,

Monday’s weather was a little cooler during the day.  The late afternoon breezes were chilly - to me.  I need a bit more heat and humidity to be totally comfortable.  Somewhere between here and home there is ideal weather.  Right now, Chiang Rai is 84F and cloudy with a thunderstorm expected at 11:15am.  Oh, and it feels like 92F.

The ‘Easy Monday’ song seems to be stumping you all.  This should shake it loose:  “She said, ‘Hey, wait a minute, hold on.’  She said, ‘Hey, just a little bit, hold on’.  Whenever I try to think of what it feels like to feel it for the first time, and was it really such a thrill.  She said, ‘Look boy, but don’t you touch, that ain’t much.  Only a __ __ __.”  Clue:  The boy is madly in love on the way home (555).

Monday we began the week with a bang.  Lisa had a morning coffee with our friend Joy, we made the famous ‘Box run’ so we can send stuff home, lunch at Emerald Thai with our friend Kathie, afternoon coffee with Lisa’s childhood friend McKinley, a yoghurt watch with my friend Christopher, and Lisa went to dinner with Sebastian.  Whew.  There were also little shopping  things stuck in between various events.

The end of this trip is getting closer.  Only three more ‘sleepings’ as August used to put it.  It’s becoming clear to those around us that we are getting homesick.  You know the signs:  Excessive talking about the dog, mentioning The Wanderer to those who will listen, sitting in the corner rocking back and forth, and not wanting to go outside in the cold air.

Today’s photo was taken in Palo Alto on Sunday.  This driftwood sculpture is by Deborah Butterfield.  She specializes in driftwood horses.  This horse is just grazing in a big vacant lot.

We recently encountered two travelers who did not succumb to the evil Mr. Lag.  Jeff, who traveled from Japan to L.A., and Cat, who flew from Taipei to SFO had no problems after their long flights.  The common denominator was the fact that they didn’t sleep during their flight.  Staying awake for 14 hours on the plane is not something I think I can do, even if it would kick Lag’s butt.  I guess we’ll just have to deal with the consequences (555).
Have a Happy Tuesday.

                  Peace,
                            Danny

by the harvest you reap
but by the seeds you plant.”
