Canvas

Hi,

Coming to you from downtown Chiang Mai, Thailand, where it’s so hot the hotel pool feels like a hot-tub.

The ‘Old School Friday’ song was “Night Train” as written and performed by James Brown.  There have been many 12 bar blues with the same title, but his was just a simple list of cities on his tour and it became very popular.
Time for ‘Easy Monday’ and something you may remember.  “Who’s peeking out from under a stairway, calling a name that’s lighter than air?  Who’s bending down to give me a rainbow?  Everyone knows it’s __.”  Hint:  The title is a name, and it’s by a very large vocal group in the 60s.

This morning we drove down to Chiang Mai.  The main purpose of the trip was for Lisa to have a consultation with my doctor at Bangkok Hospital.  As a result, we’ll be staying until Thursday.  Tomorrow she will have a procedure done and the doctor wants her to stay overnight.  I will stay with her at the hospital and we’ll just hang out.  We’ll spend Wednesday night back at the D2 and come home Thursday afternoon.

On our trip to the big city we made our regular stop at Charoen Gardens for pie.  Delicious as usual.  In general, the highway was rather calm, considering it was a Monday morning.  Not a lot of big trucks going south, and not a lot of crazy rushing.  I did notice a lot of construction along the way.

We tried something new this trip.  I found an mp3 version of Harry Potter and we started listening as soon as we left town.  I think it really helped pass the time.  It’s read by Stephen Fry and is very entertaining.

For some reason, Daku did not respond to the suitcase the way he used to.  He didn’t get upset or anything.  I think it’s because it was just one small case and it was only on the floor briefly.  When we left, he was laid back.  Guess he was waiting for us to leave so he could party with the baby sitters (555).

Today’s photo shows Gong, Neetchanon, Natcha and Daku as we left on our trip.

Have a Great Week.

            Peace,
                      Danny
