Secret

Hi,

We had a weekend of mixed weather.  The temperatures are dropping at night, but still hot during the day, and the roadside vendors are starting to sell warm coats.  A true sign that the season is changing.

The 'Old School Friday' song was "Earth Angel" by The Penguins.  'Easy Monday' should be easy this week:
"You never close your eyes anymore when I kiss your lips.  And there's no tenderness like before in your fingertips. You're trying hard not to show it, (baby), but baby, baby I know it.  __ __ __ __ __, whoa, __ __ __.  __ __ __ __ __ now it's gone, gone, gone..."  Hint:  Oh, come on now.  OK, here's a hint:  Two guys sang it.  They weren't really brothers, and it's a sad song.

Just when we were feeling all comfortable with the fabulous weather, we were given a reminder of who's really running things.  The clouds rolled in, the breeze gained speed and the rains came.  It wasn't a big storm, but enough to require raincoats on motorbikes and create some small puddles.  Today was right on the edge of being a rainy day but it didn't happen.  Instead, we had an afternoon wind that stirred things up.  If nothing else, our weather keeps things from getting boring.  (555)

Cat returned from her village on Saturday afternoon.  We were all glad to see her, especially the dogs.  She set up her laptop in the living room and watches movies and talks with her friends.  Instead of being in her room all day, she likes being where she's a part of the household happenings.  It's a pretty cool idea.  Sunday we all went down to The Brain to enroll Cat in a series of lessons on Chemistry.

There are many businesses that start up and look like they'll do great, and then suddenly disappear.  There is a building on the road to town that has been the home of about 4 restaurants since we've been here.  Now it's going through another renovation and will soon be the home of 'Soul House'.  We have no idea what kind of place it will be, but you can imagine the conversations Blue and I have had as to what it could be.  Hmm, soul food, soul music, or a monument for the souls of all the past restaurants?  We laugh a lot.

This morning, after two trips to immigration, we renewed our annual visas.  We have a nice relationship with the staff at the office now and the whole process is much less intimidating than it used to be.  Things keep changing, but we know that's part of the game.

Progress was made on our water purification system today, but it's still not finished.  Cat was very helpful in translating what needed to happen and what the workers were trying to convey.  Another crew has to come and put on the finishing touches, like making the water come out of the spout.  Never be misled by the words 'Easy installation' on a package.

Today's photo is a partial pic of a mural painted by our friend Paradorn.  It's located at The Condotel and as you can see, creates a very natural mood for relaxing by the pool.  Our friend Eric told us that sometimes butterflies will try to land on the flowers in the mural.  That's what I call realism.

Have a Great Week.

                Peace,
                          Danny
