Learn

Hi,

Chiang Rai had another beautiful day.  We spent the entire day on the compound, but not by design.  Read on...

Only one person knew the 'Zany Day' song.  This can't be true, I know you know this.  It's from a duo with many hits in the 60s and 70s.  "The monkeys stand for honesty, giraffes are insincere, and the elephants are kindly but they're dumb.  Orangutans are skeptical of changes in their cages, and the zookeeper is very fond of rum.... __ __ __".  Clue:  There's a big hint in the lyrics, in fact, it's a giveaway.

This morning we got a call that the installation of the water purification unit that was set for 10am, would happen at 4pm.  That would not be a problem.  At 10am a truck arrived with the unit, but it was just a delivery.  After much discussion we figured out that the two guys that brought it were not installers, so the 4pm appointment was still happening.  Around 4pm we got a call that it would be 6pm, and then 7pm.  By the time the installers got here they had put in a long day and seemed challenged by job.  We finally figured out where everything would go and they will return on another day to do the job.  When you have a concrete sink structure, there really isn't an easy way to drill holes in the standard fashion.  In a few days we will have clean water from our machine and this will become a distant memory.

We also had some gate remote drama, but I will spare you the details.  We can open the gate with a button, there's just not enough buttons for everyone.  (555)

Our friend Atom has returned from her studies in Japan and came to visit us today.  We had a great reunion filled with tales of life in Tokyo from a Thai perspective.  Not only was she studying the language, but the culture as well. She told us that one of the things she misses about Japan is the trains and how easily one can get around.  Some day I would like to see Japan.

Today's photo was taken by Blue.  He was sitting out by the pool when he noticed this amazing butterfly.

Have a Thrilling Thursday.

                Peace,
                          Danny
