Fears

 Hi,

Today we experienced a bright, blue, almost cloudless day.  It was so pretty outside we got the van washed.  (555)

The 'Easy Monday' song was "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane.  That means it's time for the 'Zany Day' song.
"Someone told me it's all happening __ __ __.  I do believe it, I do believe it's true.  It's a light and tumble journey from the East Side to the park; just a fine and fancy ramble to __ __.  But you can take the crosstown bus, if it's raining or it's cold, and the animals will love it if you do..."

On behalf of the dogs, I'd like to thank those of you who came forward to lend a helping paw.  A big shout out to Cousin Eunice for stepping up at a very early hour.

Last night we went to Baan Don Sod, a little night spot billed as a Blues and Jazz Studio.  We were quite surprised at the set-up and the vibe.  It had the feel of places Blue and I remembered from a long time ago.  The walls had large poster-size photos of many Jazz greats, and a few Rock heroes as well.  Tiny tables for four with checkered tablecloths gave it a homey feel.  One by one, the players trickled in and the music began to take a form.  The piano player started things off, followed by the drummer.  I don't know if this was planned or just happened because they play it loose, but it was kinda cool.  The last to appear was the guitar player.  He and the bass player appeared to be in their early 20s, if that.  They played some standards, and then dropped in a couple of heavy jazz tunes that let us know they could 'play'.  The guitar kid was our favorite, with his cool, gentle approach to everything he played.  I know I will return to take in more of this scene.

This morning we couldn't resist going to the car wash after our shopping.  We hung out at Doi Chaang and had coffee while we waited.  The music playing was a mix of female vocalists from the 40s and 50s.  I had a nice discussion with Kwan and Kern (the sisters who own the place with their mother) about the singers and their influence on modern vocalists.  They have both studied outside of Thailand and have a wide range of musical tastes.  As we were leaving, I watched the resident plant guy as he washed part of the fish pond.  This man has a regular job tending all the plants and fish that make up the beautiful environment at Doi Chaang.

A day like today demands that we go for a swim and that's just what we did.  Even though we had a cool night and morning, by the afternoon the water was very comfortable.  We're taking advantage of these days since it's just a matter of time before the 'cold season' will be here.  Almost time to reshuffle the closet and put the warm things near the front.

Feels like a Wacky Wednesday.

               Peace,
                         Danny
