Friday Funnies

Hi,

We seem to be in a pattern of very cold nights and clear warm days.  Today we went cruising with Daku, and watched the Space Station fly over.

The 'Zany Day' tune was "Get Back" by The Beatles.  Time now for a trip down memory lane, or at least an old dirt road, for some 'Old School Friday'.  "I'm gonna wait till __ __ __, that's when my love comes tumbling down.  I'mm gonna wait till __ __ __, when there's no one else around.  I'm gonna take you girl and hold you.  And do all the things I told you __ __ __ __.  Yes I am.  Clue:  This wouldn't work for Cinderella.

Our new van saw a lot of the road today.  This morning we drove up to Makro for our supplies, and then to the veggie market.  That would have been a nice loop of driving around town, but it wasn't over.  Daku has been having some irritation in his ears so this afternoon we took him to see Dr. View (her nickname).  This was Daku's first trip in the van and once he settled down, he seemed to enjoy the ride.  When he rode in the car he would stay on the floor for most of the trip.  In the van he sat up and looked around.  As if a trip to the vet wasn't enough, after lunch he got a bath, his second least favorite thing in the world.  It's a dogs life.  Today's photo shows Daku riding in the back of the van.

We planted a climbing thing this afternoon and the dogs helped (555).  Gaps in the yard are filling in and there will be lots more color.  Boot asked me why we put the mango tree in the front yard.  Hmm, because we wanted another tree on the lawn.

During dinner we had another of those 'bridging the cultural divide' conversations with Cat.  One of her teachers at school is having the students do a gift exchange for New Years.  It's set up like what we would call a 'Secret Santa' exchange in the west.  So, not knowing who Santa Claus is made the whole thing more interesting.  It was brief, and she got the idea.

Tonight was a 'Spot the Station' night.  That's when the International Space Station flies over our area.  Cat didn't know about the ISS so we explained and then we all stood in the driveway and watched it race across the sky.  Later we'll show her photos of the station.  We'll also show her the photos of Earth taken from the space by the scientists.

Tomorrow we have two art openings and a trip to the country.  At Central Plaza there is a photo exhibit curated by the US Embassy commemorating 180 years of relations between Thailand and America.  There are 90 photos of Thailand taken by Americans, and 90 photos of America taken by Thais.  It should be an interesting exhibit.

Have a Wonderful WeekEnd.    Stay tuned for a laugh.

                  Peace,
                            Danny
