Hope

Hi,

We had great weather this weekend.  Even with the clouds, it was warm but not hot and there were moments of sunshine.  Tonight the sky was clear.

The ‘Old School Friday’ song was “Kansas City” by Wilbert Harrison.  Now we’re going to play with an ‘Easy Monday’ song that’s really easy:  “When you’re down and troubled, and you need a helping hand, and nothing, whoa, nothing is going right.  Close your eyes and think of me and soon I will be there, to brighten up even your darkest nights.  You just call out my name….”  Hint:  I figure you know the rest of that line.  I really need to know if this was easy for you, so write me with the title and artist (two people who were friends had separate hits with this song).

Saturday was Loy Krathong Day.  We didn’t go to the river this year, just absorbed the vibe from across the way and relaxed with the dogs.  In the morning we took JaiDee to Chivit Thamma Da and he got to visit with his friend Nam Kok, the Golden rescue that runs the place (555).  JaiDee met new people and made friends with some travelers.

This is a photo of a ‘scone set’, which we usually order on our morning visits to Chivit.

In the evening we missed most of the full moon, the clouds were too busy.  The fireworks concessions must have been busy because we had more than our share of explosions during the evening.  There was a steady drone of bass music in the air, along with mixed drumming.  I figured it out, there are actually two music venues and we’re hearing the clash of sounds.  The ‘music’ ends at midnight.  There is one thing we are curious about and that is the absence of the paper lanterns that are usually seen filling the sky on this holiday.  In the past, the hours were limited as to when they could be released, so as not to collide with airplanes, but this year there are a lot less flights.  Tomorrow night is the last night of the celebration this year, then it will be quiet again.

In the latest dog news, last night and tonight, Lisa brought them upstairs to our bedroom after the evening walk.  TongTong is pretty laid back and is not difficult.  After 40 to 45 minutes of walking, JaiDee is tired and normally would crash in the kitchen.  Bringing them upstairs gets them used to being in the room in a quiet time.  They also stay awake longer, which means sleeping later in the morning.  This could be the greatest innovation yet (555).

This week might turn out to be busy.  Tomorrow we have our weekly talk with Joe and maybe a trip to the post office (a big outing) and Wednesday and Thursday we have coffee dates with friends.

Have a Great Week and don’t forget to vote.

                         Peace,
                                   Danny
