Decide

Hi,

We seem to be getting a long break from the rain.  Today it was just hot and humid.

The ‘Easy Monday’ song sparked a few memories.  I’m pretty sure there are more of you who remember this tune because you responded to it in the past.  Oh, that pesky past.  “…But when you’re walkin’ down that street, and you ain’t had enough to eat, the glitter rubs right off and you’re nowhere (__ __)… Ha! They say that I won’t last too long __ __ (__ __).  I’ll catch the Greyhound bus for home, they all say (__ __).  But oh, they’re dead wrong, I know they are, ‘cause I can play this here guitar.  And I won’t quit till I’m a star __ __ (__ __).”  Clue:  That was the second half of the first verse and the last verse.  This group began recording in 1956.  The street is where one goes to see plays and musicals.

While we’re on the subject of music, Lisa posted another performance of mine from back in the day on Youtube.  Enjoy.      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WAhhD-w4GU

This morning, after our Skype call with Joe, we went to Chivit Tamma Da for coffee/tea.  The tables by the river were all vacant so we had the same view as last week.  Sitting by the river in the mid-morning light never gets old.

There are three bridges in Chiang Rai.  The oldest is near our house and is the shortest.  The next bridge that was built happens to be close to Chivit Tamma Da, and the most recent one is near The Wanderer.  Funny how that worked out.  To go into town from Chivit, we just get on the bridge and roll into town.  Today we stopped at Khun Orn’s shop for some garment alterations.  It’s always a surprise when she says they’ll be ready tomorrow.

There is a shop on the highway that sells parts for almost everything that plugs into the wall, or projects sound.  We’ve been there a few times and today we needed batteries for our gate remotes.  They had them, and the tiny screwdrivers needed to open the remotes.  The place is rather dark inside, which makes leaving an experience.  It’s like walking out of a cave into the daylight.

The rest of the day consisted of lunch at the mall, no nap, and a new thing we’re doing:  A walk around the house, also known as garden appreciation.

Today’s photo was taken this morning on the way to Chivit Tamma Da.  This plant is just growing wild and we have no idea what it is.  Yesterday, as we passed it, I thought it was a flower, but it’s not.

Have a Happy Tuesday.

                        Peace,
                                  Danny
