Friday Funnies

Hi,

The weather in Culver City keeps getting better.  Each day is a little warmer.

The ‘Zany Day’ song was “Little Egypt”.  The Coasters have provided us with a lot of laughter through the years.
“One day while I was eating beans at __ __ __, just sittin’, diggin’ all them scenes at __ __ __, a chick came walkin’ through the door that I had never seen before.  At least I’d never seen her down at __ __ __, and I started shakin’ when she sat right down next to me.  Her chair was there right next to mine at __ __ __.  A chill was running down my spine at __ __ __.  I could smell her sweet perfume, she smiled at me, my heart went boom.  Then everybody in the room at __ __ __ they said, ‘Man be careful, that chick belongs to __ __.”  Hint:  The title is the name of a place, that includes someone’s name.

We started our day with breakfast at Dinah’s along with our friends Pam and Steve.  They have a new granddaughter and a new puppy so there was lots to share at 'show and tell’.  The cool thing about spending time with other pet lovers is the information that gets shared.  Today we learned about a bitter apple spray that’s supposed to keep dogs from biting furniture.  After breakfast we went to the pet supply store and got some.  We also saw lots of toys, but we showed great restraint in not buying a cart full.

Another fun place is the $.99 store.  Of course, it’s completely misnamed, since nothing in there is that cheap anymore.  They had the little odds and ends we needed for the rest of our stay.  We also experienced Big Lots, which we hadn’t been to in many, many years.

We met Paul, Joy and Leilani (their young daughter) for lunch at Kay & Dave’s, a Mexican restaurant in downtown Culver City.  Joy filled us in on the latest adventures in her world of jewelry design, while Paul dazzled us with the inner workings of commercial insurance.  It’s so cool to keep up with their lives and watch them continue to grow.  Leilani had some rather sophisticated views on politics that were refreshing.

As ornaments get packed away, here’s an oldie but goodie from the picture archives.  This round ball is actually a flower that grows at The Wanderer.

Have a Wonderful WeekEnd.      On with the ‘Funnies’.

                           Peace,
                                     Danny
