Education

Hi,

Today we got a mild reprieve from the rain.  The morning was a light rain affair that finally went away.  It was a cooler day as well.

This week’s ‘Zany Day’ tune was instantly recognized by several readers.  “Well, I’m not the world’s most physical guy but when she squeezed me tight she nearly broke my spine, oh, my __, __-__-__-__, __.  Well I’m not dumb but I can’t understand why she walked like a woman and talked like a man.  Oh, my __, __-__-__-__ __, __-__-__-__.”  Clue:  Her name rhymes with the drink in yesterday’s first verse.  Some might say this song is rather kinky.  The group was once tired of waiting.

This morning we went to Work@Home for coffee and had an unexpected visit with Katai.  It was brief because she was in a meeting.  They have meetings on the rear patio, so it’s not completely private.  We talked a bit about the rest of our Nan adventure and she returned to business.  I heard a sound truck coming down the street and went out to see what was happening.  It was the beginning of a parade in celebration of Asalha Bucha Day, which is actually tomorrow and part of the Buddhist Lent season.  I guess since it’s a National Holiday they decided to march today while everyone was available.

The parade was about an hour long.  We I didn’t think we could leave the shop, but it didn’t matter.  We were having fun watching the marching bands, floats with pretty flowers, drumming units, and groups of people walking with flowers.  These photos will give you an idea of the variety of local talent represented.  More tomorrow.

For all of you who were concerned about the size and potential weight of Nichanan’s backpack, it’s light as a feather.  I think there are some tiny little clothes and that’s about it.  When she gets more used to the school idea, this may change.  There may be ’things’ she has to take to school (555).  We’ll keep an eye on it.

When we got back from the parade, Chopper had the muzzle on and didn’t look too pleased about it.  Apparently he made chew toys out of a pair of Gong’s shoes.  This was not cool when added to previous offenses by the dog who likes to throw things and whip them into submission.

Have a Thrilling Thursday.

                  Peace,
                            Danny
