Mistake

Hi,

Clear skies have been the perfect playground for the Ultralight Club of Chiang Rai.  Today was the third day in a row that they have flown around our area.  The view from above the tree-tops must have been spectacular.

‘Easy Monday’ has somehow stumped many of you.  Really?  A movie and hit song with the same name.
“I feel it comin’ together, people will see me and cry.  __!  I’m gonna make it to heaven, light up the sky like a flame.  __!  I’m gonna live forever, baby, remember my name.”  Hint:  What rhymes with name?  I’ve said too much.

Monday, when we drove to Central Festival we discovered they had upgraded the parking garage.  There is a lighting system that lets you know what spaces are empty, and a counter displaying the total number of empty stalls in each section.  So cool.  That’s our photo for today.  You will see green lights above empty spaces.  When a car is there a little red light comes on.  Brilliant.

After our Chiang Mai adventure I took it easy today.  Lisa did the morning shopping run and then had lunch with a friend.  Blue and I had fun talking and laughing during our lunch.  It was a stag lunch with Daku putting in his two cents every now and then (555).

Just when you think you’ve seen it all, you see more.  Today someone in the neighborhood behind us set off display fireworks.  I kept hearing that ‘swooshing’ sound after the loud boom, the sound of colors opening in the air.  Looking out, I could see the faint red of a flower display.  Hmm, I guess if you want to make some noise, that will do just fine.  I’m glad they didn’t set any off when the ultralights were flying around.

We have three weeks and a day until we make the big trip back to the states.  This evening after dinner, we went to the Night Bazaar for the first time in months.  The place was crowded with tourists, which was nice to see.  Visiting with some of our merchant friends, we discovered that business is still slow.  People look but don’t buy.  Some of our friends had remodeled their stalls, others had added new products.  The scarf lady had been keeping track since our last visit, and it turns out we had been missed.  That was heart-warming.  With our holiday shopping just about done, we left the Night Bazaar feeling quite content.

Have a Happy Tuesday.

                  Peace,
                            Danny
