Learn

Hi,

I guess you can conclude that it was a late night out.  That's why this is coming to you later in the day, for those of  you on the North American continent.

Congrats to all those who remembered this week's 'Easy Monday' song.  The last verse may ring a bell, maybe:
"Someone's waitin' just for you, __ __, __ true.  Drop all your troubles by the riverside.  Ride a painted pony, let the __ __ fly."  Hint:  Take your mind out for a spin and you might get this one.

Today was a rather mellow day in Chiang Rai.  This afternoon we had a very nice visit with Beth and Tawee.  Tawee is the director of The Sold Project and we had a lot of catching up to do.  They are also expecting their first child and they have a dog, so there were lots of stories and anecdotes.  The Sold Project is now getting major support from The Girl Effect as a result of a recent fundraising drive.  Tawee and Beth filled us in on the progress of the program (in terms of the number of children still in school) and it's amazing.  There are now 150 children in the project and  17 students from the village that are attending high school.  One of their scholarship students teaches the computer class at the center.  Change is happening and it's good.

This evening we went to dinner with our good friends Justin and Lisa, and Lisa's sister Brie.  We ate at Sawadee and had a fun time.  They will be leaving Chiang Rai in two weeks and moving to Bangkok.  He will be managing a hotel in the big city.  After dinner we strolled through the Night Bazaar and totally lost track of time.  That's what can happen when you're having fun.

On the way to dinner we were behind this giant tour bus and I realized that the 'engine room' was lit up with green lights.  Amazing.  If you look real close, there is a monkey hanging from the back rail.

Have a Happy Tuesday.

                Peace,
                           Danny
