Understand

Hi,

The weather today was, in a word, rain. All day long it rained. We had brief breaks of sunshine, but then it would start up again. Yes, we're sick of it but what can you do? The dogs got a little exercise between the raindrops, and we stayed in all day.

Either it wasn't that easy, or you're losing interest in 'Easy Monday'. Maybe this will jar your memory a little:
"When I'm home, everything seems to be right. When I'm home, feeling you holding me tight, tight, yeah. It's been __ __ __ __, and I've been working like a dog..." Clue: Four lads from across the pond sang this song that became the title of a movie featuring them. Lots of good songs in that film. It's as easy as day and night.

What does one do on a rainy day in Chiang Rai? We began making more plans for the November art exhibit, and for house guests we'll be having the week after the show. Last night we reserved our seats for the trip back to the U.S. in December, which seems like a long way away, but the good seats go fast. When traveling for most of a day, it's nice to be sitting in front of the wing, there's less engine noise.

Thursday we're going to Mae Chan to visit some new friends who have an organic farm. We met them at Le Meridien during the wine tasting party. They supply fresh vegetables for the hotel and other restaurants. It will be fun to go out into the country. They have hydroponic tanks for growing the food, and that should be interesting. They also have a bunch of dogs.

We're very fortunate here in Chiang Rai when it comes to the rain, because we don't have the flooding problems that are causing problems in other parts of the country. Every morning, when Boot is cleaning in the living room, she has the news channel on the TV, showing the relief efforts in the south of Thailand. I'm grateful that we don't have those problems here.

As a result of the good times that we had at Sunday night's Full Moon Party, Jaffee has decided to make it a monthly affair. He and a friend have started what they're calling the 'We Love Chiang Rai Club'. Everyone will bring their own food and beverages and we'll just have fun. It also means we can eat what we like to eat. (555)

Since the tennis is over for a while, we're watching pre-recorded broadcasts of the European Diving Championships, European Gymnastics, badminton, snooker, and sometimes a sports news magazine. Did you know that there is a Cricket league in Los Angeles? I don't quite understand the game, but the league is getting kids off the streets and they look like they're having fun. Hmm.

Have a Happy Tuesday.

Peace,
Danny
