Gratitude

Hi,

The weather in Chiang Rai is being very pleasant. We had another day of patchy clouds, hot sun, and an afternoon downpour that was brief. It could change anytime, but for now, it's great.

The 'Easy Monday' song was "The Girl From Ipanema" by Astrid Gilberto & Stan Getz. Since none of you have expressed yourselves by telling me your year of favorite music, it's still 'Dealer's Choice'. This week I'm dragging out one of my favorite Funk tunes from the early 70s. "__ __... It's not what you look like, when you're doin' what you're doin'. It's what your doin' when you're doin' what you look like you're doin'! __ __, __ __." Clue: The tune is by a drummer and his band, named after a street in their neighborhood. It's about sayin' what you need to say, or something. (555)

We stayed home all day today. It was one of those quiet days. The spray man came, the pool guy did his thing, and we had a visit from our friend Tye in the afternoon.

When we first moved here we had no idea it was becoming a growth area. The topic of economic, and population growth are a part of every conversation these days. The preparation for new expansion in the region has begun and many fear that 'old ways' will be lost. It's a valid concern and I never imagined that I'd ever see such a clash of cultures. Modern 'progress' is difficult to stop. The next few years will be something to watch. I just hope they keep farming corn in the fields around us.

Looks like a Wacky Wednesday.

Peace,
Danny

is not to utter words, but to live by them."
