World

Hi,

Today in Chiang Rai, more heat. The airport got another visit from us, the square umbrella was found, shoes were acquired, and another evening massage just ended.

I received a bunch of email regarding the 'Easy' song. That tells me it must be easy. Where's your message?
"I say high, you say low. You say why, and I say I don't know, oh no..." Clue: The title is not actually sung in the song. The two words are, in fact, reversed in the lyrics. Oh well, much more would give it away.

We got an early start this morning, hitting the street at 9am. The airport was our first stop. We had to change the date and time on the ticket we purchased last week. It all went smoothly, except for the additional fees. In the grand scheme of things, not a deal breaker. We just want to make sure we can get from BKK to CEI on our return this winter. Talk about planning ahead.

On a hunch, we stopped at Makro on the way back to town to look for the umbrella I couldn't find yesterday. It was a good hunch indeed. They had it, and in assorted colors. It's not as big as the one we had, but so much easier to handle.

It has gotten to the point, after over two and a half years, that I can visualize the streets and plot a course of travel that puts us in the right direction on the right street, for the right store. Some streets are divided, some are too busy to turn around, and some are one way, which means that planning can save time and frustration. Today was a good day, and not only did we travel in a good pattern, there was a parking place waiting at every stop. How cool is that?

After a stop at the hair salon for a trim of Lisa's bangs, we went to a shoe store we had success at a while back. It could be easily missed if you didn't know it was there, but we know. It's rather dark inside, and the hot air was not circulating at all. That didn't stop us from looking for comfortable shoes. This store carries some quality shoes. They have their share of junk too, but it's always worth it to check out their stock for something special.

This evening we returned to Arisara for a long massage. We've been getting good results at this new place. I hope they can keep the doors open, it always seems so empty when we go. Of course, this is the season of empty so it's hard to know. We're still seeing tourists in town, but now like 'High Season'. Life goes on.

Have a Happy Tuesday.

Peace,
Danny
