Light

Hi,
It was another gorgeous day here in Chiang Rai. Blue sky with some fluffy white clouds in the distance. We had a mellow day and tried a language experiment that I'll tell you about in a minute.
See, I told you that this would be a song you knew. Lots of mail. Today's line should nail it if you're on the fence. Easy one.
"There must be some word today, from my boyfriend so far away. __ __ __, look and see, if there's a letter, a letter for me. (and my favorite line) deliver the letter, the sooner the better..." Hint: Could it be any more clear? Please use your imagination.
This morning BamBam spotted the cows from upstairs and really wanted to bark at them. We caught her early and she got off a few and then some low growls. Those big things aren't supposed to be there. We've noticed that when she goes on 'patrol' she's taking an inventory of the yard. If a big leaf falls when she's in the yard, it gets barked at. If she comes out and it's on the ground, it gets bitten. Sometimes she'll run out, attack a leaf and then prance around the yard with it in her mouth. Maybe she's part lion.
It had been suggested that we try watching a movie with Thai language audio and English subtitles, to help us learn the language. We went to our local video store where I still have a valid card, and discovered there were many films to chose from. We got three American comedies and brought them home to practice listening. Well, it really didn't work. The dialogue is going by too fast to listen, while you look at the subtitles to see if you're correct, and then keep it all in context. Whew. We just switched the first one to English and watched the movie. The other plan is to watch some of the programming for children in the morning and see if we can follow along from time to time.
That's about it for today. Tomorrow is pool guy day and later we'll do more planning with the landscape people about a new well water system for the yard. Great lawns require great amounts of water, as do the many trees. Might as well take advantage of the source. (the pun was intended)
Have a Happy Tuesday.

Peace,
Danny
