The weather is being consistent, and pretty much doing what the forecasters are saying. What no one can forecast is the dummies that are burning almost every afternoon and evening. It’s way before the traditional ‘burning season’, yet the smoke is here. Don’t get me started.
Since everyone knows the ‘Easy Monday’ song (555), we’ll skip to the last verse (my fav): “Last thing I remember, I was running for the door. I had to find the passage back to the place I was before. ‘Relax,’ said the night man, ‘we are programmed to receive. You can check-out any time you like, but you can never leave!’ Welcome to the __ __, such a lovely place, such a lovely face. They’re livin’ it up at the __ __. What a nice surprise, bring our alibis.” Clue: A place to dwell for a time. A place to get lost… By a group named for a majestic bird of prey.
This morning was one of those busy, productive episodes. We began early at Bangkok Hospital for a cholesterol blood test for Lisa and an eye-lid check up for me. I have to do some regular things for my eye, and Lisa’s numbers are wonderful. It was a very satisfying visit. You know things are better when your next appointment is in three months.
The next stop, heading south on the Super Highway, was Little C. They seem to have nicer women’s fashions than Big C, so we stopped to check that out. While we were there, coffee was in order. Rolling down the road we made an overdue stop at Browney Pet World for treats and stuff. The final piece of business was with Khun Orn, the seamstress.
Today’s photo was taken yesterday at Chivit Thamma Da. Our friend John and I were snapped by Lisa.
We are in the midst of a string of holidays. Last weekend was the celebration of Rama 9, the previous King of Thailand. This coming weekend, starting Thursday, is the celebration of Constitution Day, through Sunday. It’s good for some of our friends who have coffee shop/restaurants because they get Thai tourists. Even with the covid outbreak at the border, people seem to want a break. Unfortunately, places like the Night Bazaar have not faired so well. They were just about to start back up, but that’s on hold for now. It appears so far that Chiang Rai hasn’t had a big outbreak, the people involved were found and their contacts were traced and things are quieting down.
Tonight we went to the walking place for the first time in several days. JaiDee began pulling, as if he wanted to go faster. About half way through, Lisa put him on her right side and he calmed down. Hmm, we’ll see if this lasts. It would certainly make the whole experience more enjoyable. We’re all walking for a little over 30 minutes every night.
Have a Happy Tuesday.
Peace,
Danny
