Hi,

It was just another sunny day in Chiang Rai.  There were some afternoon breezes that felt nice.  Unfortunately, they circulated the smoke from local fires.  It’s way early for the ‘burning season’, but I know what I smell.

The ‘Zany Day’ song was easy for some.  One of those tunes that sticks in your head.  Let the looping continue:
“Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a color TV?  Dialing for dollars is trying to find me.  I wait for delivery each day until three, so Lord, won’t you buy me a color TV?  Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a __ __?  My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends…”  Clue:  Zoom!

This morning JaiDee woke up an hour early, at 4am.  Usually, we will go back to sleep until at least 5am, but today he was up and ready to go.  So we started our day temporarily by having breakfast, a little TV with the dog, and then went back to bed.  We keep getting messages of encouragement from friends, telling us that this will pass and blah, blah, blah.  The words are patience and faith (555).

We had a visit from our friend Brenda and a visitor of hers, Carolyn.  Brenda has been gone for 7 months, mostly traveling, so we heard lots of stories from the road.  JaiDee was the perfect gentleman for awhile.  It’s funny how we learn about stuff in our own backyard from people who just got back to town.  So it was today.  We exchanged discoveries and it was great.

There is a little couch in our living room that also serves as a simple bed.  It has become the hang-out spot for Gop and Nitchanan when they play with their phones.  They know how to make it flat for extra sprawling space, and the decorative pillows get used in many ways.  JaiDee has decided that he is part of the club and therefore has a right to be on the little couch.  The first time we saw this was when he came out of the bedroom, raced down the hall, and made a flying leap onto the couch and Gop.  We’ve tried to teach him that it’s not for dogs but I guess it is.

This evening we went to the vets for a booster shot and to check on a little rash.  The first thing they do is weigh the client.  JaiDee weighs 30lbs.  He has lost most of his puppy fur and we’re starting to see his true color.  It’s not completely clear just what that color will be, but it’s definitely darker than the puppy stuff.  Kind of a dark tan.  I suspect he will be quite handsome when it’s all grown out.

Today’s photo shows JaiDee, once again, engrossed with the action on the tennis courts.  He rushed over and jumped up to get a better view.  You can see the color change on his back.

Have a Thrilling Thursday.

                      Peace,
                                Danny
