Music

Hi,

Today we had more of the delicious weather I’ve been writing about.  It’s also nice that the air has been clear of any smoke.

The ‘Easy Monday’ song had many responses on the first day.  Today’s lyrics may help you remember:
“Well, now, I get low and I get high, and if I can’t get either, I really try.  Got the wings of heaven on my shoes.  I’m a dancin’ man and I just can’t lose…. whether you’re a brother or whether you’re a mother, you’re __ __, __ __.  Feel the city breakin’ and everybody shakin’ and we’re __ __, __ __.  Ah, ha, ha, ha, __ __, __ __”  Clue:  Major song in a major movie in 1977.

Monday night was the first night of Loy Krathong.  The moon was full and the sky was clear.  This made the viewing of fireworks perfect.  We only saw a few, but they really stuck out in the night.  We went to The Legend Resort for a buffet dinner package that included a meal, entertainment and a Krathong to set in the river.  We arrived at the appointed hour only to find out that dinner wouldn’t begin until 7pm.  Sometimes plans change and adjustments have to be made.  Natcha was watching JaiDee and Nichanan had a bad cough.  We needed to be home in time for Natcha to take the little one to the doctor.  We managed to have some pre-dinner snacks, stroll down to the river, have dinner and leave.  I did manage to get a few photos of the setting.  Maybe next year we’ll do like some friends and float some Krathongs in the pool.  Hmm.  While discussing the need to cut down on the pollution in the river, some of Cat’s friends suggested making Krathongs out of ice.  When placed in the river, they would float downstream and simply melt, leaving a few flowers in the water.

Today’s photo is a traditional Thai music orchestra made up of ‘locals’, that plays various events.  There were two men in this group, the rest were women.

This morning (Tuesday) we did our coffee at The Wanderer again.  Today we got a surprise visit from Joey, a Thai dog that was the runt of a litter that was rescued by the staff.  Kwan has been nursing him to health.  He has had Mercy as a big sister/guide, but broke his leg a few months ago.  He recently got his cast removed and is ready for action.  He apparently snuck out of the house and came down to the coffee area.  JaiDee immediately wanted to know this new animal.  They both touched noses and wanted to play, but Joey’s not supposed to do that yet.  Kwan showed up just in time and held on to him.  I’m sure we’ll be seeing more of him in the days to come.

Tonight Natcha and Gong and some family members are having a little Loy Krathong party in the back yard.  It’s nice for them to be able to celebrate without dealing with the crowds and noise at the river.

Have a Happy Tuesday.

                    Peace,
                              Danny

when it hits you feel no pain.”
