Still

Hi,

Well, we had a warm weekend with no rain.  It wasn’t that overwhelming heat, but just like a warm summer day.

Last week’s ‘Old School Friday’ song was “Me and Bobby McGee” by Janis Joplin.  This week’s ‘Easy Monday’ should be a snap:  “__ __ __ when she’s gone.  It’s not warm when she’s away.  __ __ __ when she’s gone and she’s always gone too long, anytime she goes away.”  Hint:  There is a lack of something at certain times.

Our weekend was pretty routine.  JaiDee is so used to going out with us that whenever we’re in the kitchen with bags and shoes, he gets all excited.  He got in plenty of visits at his coffee spots.  We’re just grateful that he takes us along.  Sunday he was 4 months old.  Time goes by so quickly when you’re busy.  It’s hard to believe that he’s only been with us for two months.  When we look at his first pics, he looks like a different dog.  Even with all the erratic, puppy behavior, he is maturing.  Lisa took him out on the front lawn and they ran around without the leash.  He mostly stayed with her.  We’ve been imagining him going off into the bushes and flower beds creating messes and chewing everything in sight, but he stayed in the ‘game’.

Today’s photo is JaiDee at 4 months.

Over the weekend we went to 2 local nurseries looking for a particular flowering vine.  Haven’t found it yet, but there were a few others that came home with us.  The house behind us is almost complete we think, and there is still a gap in our ‘seclusion’ that needs to be filled with a tree.  There is more building in the area behind us, but we don’t really see it.

The main road and bridge leading to our street are being decorated for the big Loy Krathong holiday coming up.  We can see the framework for big lighted displays in shapes like flowers and stars, lining the road.  On the evening of 11 November the shore of the river will come alive with people setting their flower-covered, candle-lit Krathongs into the water.  There will be the usual carnival atmosphere and music into the night.

This morning we left the little one at home with Natcha and Gong, and went to Starbuck’s for coffee and then shopping at the ‘Everything Store’ near us.  We call it that because they have everything in one place.  There are many stores like this in every village in every town.  A lot of it is not high quality, but the prices are insanely cheap and the stuff servers it’s purpose.  Today it was plastic baskets for organizing under the kitchen sink.  The lady that runs the place has a very happy, outgoing personality and really makes you feel at home.  Everything in the Everything Store is dusty, so when Lisa put her items on the counter, the woman gave her a hand wipe to clean her fingers.  We’ll be back.

Have a Great Week.

                     Peace,
                               Danny

still and let life happen; that stillness
