Change

Hi,

Chiang Rai got a little reprieve from the downpours today.  We had tiny rain a few times, but not enough to stop the show (555).  The muted sunshine felt good.

The ‘Easy Monday’ song was “She Loves You” by The Beatles.  The ‘Zany Day’ song is from 1970.  Do you remember?
“__ __, if you know what I mean.  __ __, she taught me everything.  Way down around Vicksburg, around Louisiana way, lived a Cajun lady, we called her __ __.  You know she was a dancer, she moved better on wine.  While the rest of them dudes was a-gettin’ their kicks, buddy, beg your pardon, I was getting mine.”  Hint:  Hmm, royalty on a river?

This morning we took Daku to the vet for his rabies vaccination.  We learned from the doctor that they call it ‘rabie’ here.  There was a bit of a wait, but we passed the time visiting with our friend Lisa, whose dog, Diesel, was not feeling well.  At one point there were 3 dogs and 2 cats in the room and Daku stayed relatively calm.  It helped that Lisa brought along some of Natcha’s homemade bread as treats.  Dr. Arnon has this method of giving injections where he casually approaches the dog with syringe out of sight.  With one quick move the deed is done and Daku didn’t even know what happened.

The first week of Wimbledon is under way.  With the time difference we sometimes miss the live action, but they replay everything endlessly here in Thailand, so it’s possible to see most of the action over and over.

Tatt let us know where he was at various stages of his journey.  It’s nice to know he made it home.  His parents wanted us to be at the ceremony tomorrow, but he explained that it was a busy time for us.  He will be off the grid for two weeks, but he’s going to send us photos when he’s done.

Today’s photo shows Tatt during his internship in a diving suit.  When I asked him how deep it was he told me it was ‘two floors’ down.  Sea Life, where he was working, is in a big shopping complex.  Pretty amazing that a huge aquarium would be in a space like that.  Very cool suit.

Tomorrow we go to immigration for our 90 day check-in.  It’s one of those routine things.  We have friends on different types of visas and they sometimes have to leave the country and re-enter by air to get an extended tourist visa.  Our Retirement visas allow us to remain in The Kingdom for one year, and we don’t have to leave to renew.

Feels like a Wacky Wednesday.

                  Peace,
                            Danny
