Words

Hi,

We had a rain-free day in Chiang Rai.  The downside of clear, dry days is the invitation they send to those wanting to burn plant waste.  The farmers behind us got rid of lots of little piles of corn waste, sending plumes of smoke into the air.  Fortunately, the wind was blowing west so we missed most of it.  Mr. Flu continues his visit.  I think I’m getting better, but remain mostly miserable.  While we were in Singapore, Cat got it and now Natcha, along with her niece, seem to have the same early symptoms.  It’s the season.

The ‘Zany Day’ song had a few hits.  I’m pretty sure it’s familiar to most of you so here’s a little more:
“Cellophane flowers of yellow and green towering over your head.  Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes and she’s gone.  __ __ __ __ __ __, __ __ __ __ __ __, __ __ __ __ __ __, Aaaahhh…”  Clue: After 49 years, there are still theories about the nature of this song.  At this point it hardly matters.  Enjoy the song.

In Singapore we took a taxi to the Jurong Bird Park.  Imagine going to a giant zoo that is dedicated to birds.  We had breakfast in a little fast-food place.  The first photo is the creative kiddie chairs.  There was a tram that we rode through the park.  We got off at several stops to view birds up close.  They claim that almost every species of bird is represented somewhere in the park.  It would have taken a full day to see everything, but we had a lot of fun, learned things, and found it very relaxing walking among the trees and waterfalls.  There is a Wiki page with photos of many of the featured species.

I wanna eat at the kids table.

Ahhhh

Have a Thrilling Thursday.

                  Peace,
                            Danny
